Jimmy Stewart was an outstanding guess. The light hitting Woodward was about 10ft from being sacked by the flour. I remember thinking that was the craziest thing I had ever heard.

754 behind Hank.

Let's continue with some old school and some Hank... Aaron' date=' that is. 1. Most baseball fans remember that Downing of the Dodgers gave up #715 but who gave up Aaron's tiebreaking #714 on Hank's first swing of the '74 season? 2. What infielder did Hank line out to in his very last All-Star game at bat? 3. Who held Hammerin' Hank hitless in five at bats in Aaron's first major league game? Hint: All three answers share something in common.[/quote']

1. You mean "record-tying." Jack Billingham

I knew what you meant.

Yes, tied Ruth's record. Billingham is correct.

More old school ... Who am I ?

1. I hit a homerun in my first major league at-bat.

2. I was named National League Rookie of the Year.

3. I pitched a no-hitter for a franchise that didn't have another one for 33 years.

4. I was known to make brash predictions about my upcoming performances.

5. I spent two years in the pokey.

Why did he go to jail?

Ferguson Jenkins?

Why did he go to jail?

I think was charged with battery and sexual assault on ex-wife.

He once shut out the Reds and then bragged that he would do it again in a week. I hated him forever after that. When he faced the Reds a week later, they nailed him big-time.

Racking my brain and refraining from looking up the ROY winners.....for now.

I had to look up the ROY winners to figure it out. I had forgotten all about this guy--and I didn't know he went to jail.

Sounds like something Dock Ellis might do but I do not think he was ROY.

It wasn't him.

I remember him making such a prediction and I believe Bench took him deep twice and the Reds knocked him out of the game really early.
