June 5, 201313 yr Just got home from the game...stayed til the bitter end. As has been the case in all too many games so far this year, the Reds starting pitcher deserved better. Bailey, aside from a brief hiccup in which the Rockies scored their first 3, was unbelievably efficient. I don't know what the spread ended up being, but if he threw 100 pitches, it wouldn't surprise me that 75 or 80 of them were strikes. Did FSN use their pitch tracker to show the location of Lecure's no-call third strike pitch to Gonzales? From where I was sitting, it looked like 3/4 of the team had started to walk off the field thinking the inning was over. After that, it looked like either Sam had a mental meltdown, or the umpire exacted revenge by calling darn near everything else a ball until Tulo hit his shot. It's funny what pic HT posted earlier. After Lutz hit a mammoth shot foul down the right field line, then looked silly on some offspead breaking stuff, I turned to the guy next to me and said in my best Pedro Cerano voice "straight ball...hit very far...curve ball...bat's afraid". Then in the 9th, he turns to me and said Derrick Robinson should've got down and done some push ups ala Willy Mays Hayes. Geez.
June 5, 201313 yr Reds just can't seem to get past 14 games over .500. But they've got all of the pieces to do it. They could finish 30 over easily. They need rest, Votto isn't Votto still if they right their problems they finish 40 over.

I wondered about that. The weird thing was seeing Lecure, Frazier, Cozart and Izturis all take a couple of steps toward the dugout following the pitch. Figured it must have been really close for all of them to do that.
