He's pretty good at what he does. If I'm in the need of a defense attorney, that's the ONLY thing I'd be concerned about.

^ I 100% agree with uselessinfo. His involvement in the case involving the Dixie Heights teacher who was involved in a sexual relationship with her underage student was troubling, however.

 

While I agree, everyone (even the scummiest of the scum) deserves respresentation. Defense attorney is one of the most thankless, difficult jobs out there IMO.

But not everyone who needs a defense attorney is a scum but can have prosecutors trying to protect perrcentages and convict those that are not guilty.

But, he also answers his cell phone and talks to his clients and potential clients without hesitation or reservation. He keeps in touch with them and works with them.

 

He does have a genuine compassion for the underdog and the "little guy" who is being knocked around. I think those of you that have never dealt with the judicial system would be shocked at things prosecutors do keep there conviction rate up. Even at the expense of people being innocent and/or just being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Many people do not have the resources to fight the prosecutors and he is willing to do so.

I agree. I'm commenting on the specific mention of the Sarah Jones case.

From what I understand I think some people would be shocked at how many high profile cases Deters handles.

 

Correct, but his clientele are normal folks in extraordinary situations that see Deters as a huge personality and they equate that w/ being a great lawyer. He may have been approached by corporations and the like, I don't know.

My brother-in-law is very good as well. He has had a couple high profile cases in the area. You probably have never heard of him, know why? He doesn't make himself bigger than the case, and that is what bugs me about Deters.
