That was not my understanding. I looked it up...per supremecourt.gov: "The Court receives approximately 10,000 petitions for a writ of certiorari each year. The Court grants and hears oral argument in about 75-80 cases."

 

I'd rather see the Supreme Court spending their time and our money on cases that matter.

I think it is a part of Eric's personality and his business approach. If Eric doesn't go ALL OUT for himself, how can he tell any of his clients he is going to go all out for them?

 

I understand that. But there are plenty of defense attorneys around who are just as successful as Eric who don't have to go to the extremes that Eric does to turn over just as much business as he does. (see Phil Taliaferro, Burr Travis)

I know Phil just a little and Burr pretty well and I feel you. Different strokes for different folks.

If I'm not mistaken, the Deters Company is run by Neil Stiegelmeyer, Nathan Deters, and Jeremy Deters. I think Eric does the legal work for the company, but I'm not positive of that.

 

As for the Independence Kroger, there's a fair amount going on with that involving both Kroger and the Deters family - or at least the portion of the Deters family that still talks to each other.

You got that right!!!! I actually typed and then deleted a couple of posts because who knows what he might do!

We already talked about it, he doesn't mind. He understands its a Love-Hate Relationship with him and people.

 

In fact, much like I think, even negative publicity can often be good for business.

 

Still don't trust that he would not take legal action against anyone who wrote something he feels is a knock against him, if he feels he can make a buck from it.

Sounds right. If I remember correctly he had an engineering background with someone like P & G or GE. Great guy.
