So if a kid went down the hall saying "Pew Pew...Pew Pew" he would probably get arrested.

Apparently some would applaud an arrest.

I wonder if the teacher had a kid that did the same would get same punishment.

Only if you c0ck it and say "bang" when you point it at somebody.

I just told my 10 year old about this and he said, "what if you just point the eraser side and say it is a pop gun?", LOL

My question is at what exact point does the pencil become a weapon? Is it when it is pointed, or is still a pencil? Is it when you say bang? If it is during the bang, then would pointing any object and saying bang automatically make it a weapon. Say a marshmallow? Or what if you pointed a hammer and said bang. Is it a weapon or is still a tool because that is the noise it makes. I can't tell what is a weapon and what isn't anymore.

Its a weapon when the kid tries to stab someone with it .

I put a silencer on my pencil, so now I just point it and say "pffft".

In a related note, pull my finger has now been ruled an act of terror.

Obviously, but is it a weapon when you point it at someone and say "bang"?

If it was a wooden pencil, I don't know what all the fuss is about. Everybody knows those are good for just one shot. The mechanical ones, though, those you gotta watch out for. They've got high capactiy chambers! Multiple pieces of lead could have been used then.

Why are all of you giving this kid a pass. Kids are taught every day that they can not make any gestures of a gun or gun like sounds in school, period. And yet this kid still did it, why should he not be punished for it. This kid should not get a pass, the kid knows better than to do this stuff in school, yet still does it, stupid kid, should suffer the consequences.

We're talking about a 7 year old here, right?

Just checked with my son and he confirmed that he was not taught yesterday or any day this week that he cannot make a gesture of a gun or gun like sounds so this post has lost all credibility.
