May 8, 201313 yr If he is the best option in that situation you need some serious bench help. I get he can hit a little but I don't think you bat him in that situation. Only one person would even consider letting him hit there. Unfortunately for the Reds, it's the idiot calling the shots.
May 8, 201313 yr  The Reds will never realize their potential with this idiot calling the shots.
May 8, 201313 yr Only one person would even consider letting him hit there. Unfortunately for the Reds, it's the idiot calling the shots. So people want him to hit 2nd in the batting order yet want him to be pinch hit for in that situation? Guess he's wrong no matter what happens
May 8, 201313 yr Sparky Anderson's last eight years - 5 losing seasons, no division titles, losing record ... he sucks, right? Seriously, you can twist numbers to say what you want. But hey, I know when someone will believe what they want to believe. You have your opinion and I have mine. Thanks for the discussion. :walk: Didn't Sparky get fired for that performance and never get another managerial job? Also, it is tough to compare the two given Anderson's 3 World Series Championships with 2 teams--he didn't build his resume off the steroid infused back of one player. It is easier to give him the benefit of the doubt because he won championships.
May 8, 201313 yr Author Hoover protecting the margin. Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooot.
May 8, 201313 yr So people want him to hit 2nd in the batting order yet want him to be pinch hit for in that situation? Guess he's wrong no matter what happens ^This One way or the other some people will complain. That doesn't mean I think he makes all the 'right' decisions. I just don't think he's the helpless clown that some people are making him out to be.
May 8, 201313 yr Pretty sure anyone with an IQ over 5 could see it was a disaster waiting to happen allowing Leake to start the 8th when they have the top of the lineup coming up, who have happened to go a combined 4-6 against him on the day.
May 8, 201313 yr Author You know what? I don't even mind Leake batting in that spot. He had a knock against the kid earlier, seen plenty of pitches and the matchup was good for him RvL. But he was over 100 pitches. Top of the order, come on man, that's just stupid to trot him back out there. No one in their right mind should defend that decision. Stupidity.
May 8, 201313 yr Well you're not going to win many games scoring one run. If the Reds weren't so terrible offensively and had more than one run, Dusty would have never trotted Leake out there in the 8th
