May 6, 201313 yr The "outrage" is over ONE voter who thought Melo deserved a vote. It's beyond absurd. The Heat have two other All Stars. The Thunder also have Westbrook and Ibaka. Lakers have Howard and Gasol. All of those teams would still be good without their top dog. The Knicks would be awful without Melo, and ONE guy felt he should get some love for it with a 1st place MVP vote. OUTRAGE!!! By that standard how many other teams would be lost without their best player...should Harden be MVP? Where would Houston have been without him?

Melo took a similar roster (very average) and elevated them to the 2 seed in the East. Apples and anchovies...

Who on the Houston rockets is the defensive stall worth that chandler is. Ill save you time is it Asik? Who on the rockets is at the caliber of stoudemire? Where is the second scoring option in jr smith? Don't forget the excellent perimeter defender in iman shumpert. Sorry but there rosters are very different and there's nothing "very average" about the Knicks roster.

Sorry but there rosters are very different and there's nothing "very average" about the Knicks roster. Asik had more points and rebounds than Chandler with the same number of blocks and did that in 16 more games played. Chandler Parsons was better than Stoudamire, and he didn't miss 2/3 of the season injured. Parsons was the #2 option, and I'd obviously take Smith over him but Parsons was the more efficient scorer and wasn't prone to miserable cold spells. Shumpert is a very good defender, but only played in 45 games. The Knicks roster was VERY average this year, and yes a large part of that was numerous injuries that cost key guys big chunks of the season. The constant? Melo. He carried the team to the 2 seed. No way around it...

Hell he got 99% of the votes. The faux outrage over one guy feeling Melo deserved a vote is still both hilarious and sad. His reasoning was as sound as it gets and there is still silly uproar over nothing...
