April 29, 201313 yr I've saw both in concert which they were both awhile back, but I thought Hank was a better performer. They've both had really long careers and have stuck around for years. If I can only have one I guess I would have to take Hank.
April 29, 201313 yr You may be right but I don't ever remember hearing he wrote the underground stuff while in prison. I thought he wrote a couple of albums he released in the late 60s long before the underground stuff. On a side note, some of the underground stuff is really rough and I am sure many people think DAC is racist, sexist, etc. as a result of that music but I want to offer one however. At least one of the songs could/should/whatever word you want to use here be considered racist/anti-black/etc. However, for a period of time DAC had a black drummer in his band. I saw him a few years ago and he covered a rap song about half way through his set. At least a 1/3 of the crowd got angry and left.

As far as fear of turning off Pantera fans, I saw them live several times when DAC's "Jack Daniels if You Please" was played over the PA as sort of an intro for Pantera, as many in the crowd sang the lyrics.
April 29, 201313 yr Love them both, but DAC has about 1/4 the albums Hank Jr. has, problem with both is most people do not even know half the songs they have ought there, or have wrote. For me I will tank Hank Jr.

I didn't know that but with Dime's death the earlier concerns really don't matter so it makes sense to me.
