I was under the impression Notre Dame would play all ACC teams in football over a 3-4 year period. I have been skeptical if it would actually play out that way.

 

ND just cancelled a 2014 road game at Arizona State. ASU is looking to fill that date.

Scheduling, like everything else in college football, is about MONEY. Anything and everything else is way down the list of important things.

 

A&M is now at the top of the heap by being in the SEC. Soon they will be the pride of all of Texas.

Seeing as UL will more than likely be in the Top 10, and has a legitimate shot at running the table, I'd say it would definitely help them.

A&M will have many opportunities to prove what they are throughout the year. As much as I would like to see it, becoming Louisville's Super Bowl to kick off the year is lose-lose.

Beyond thwarting a chance to knock off a team that can go unscathed, it does nothing to bolster their resume as a title contender. Their path is to win the conference with 1 or no losses. "Help" in this case is relative. There is no point to it is a better way of looking at it.

ND never committed to playing Big East football teams. I thought that to join ACC they committed to play 4-5 ACC schools per year. Knowing ND it'll be Duke, Wake, NC St and UVA year in and year out...

I believe that football has to play 4 or five ACC teams a year in order to be a basketball member. I don't know if they have to rotate the teams.

According to this press release they will play 5 every year and everyone in a 3 year rotation.

So Cards should get them Home and Away at least every 6 years.
