I saw the thread, and read the article. If I cared about the pay cut, I would have said so. I don't need to care about something to read about it. I still don't get why you got offended by me pointing out political bias, something all of are guilty of and has and will always happen. You can bet the author of the article is politically biased.

I call things as I see them, so no, I don't think he's been a good president nor do I agree with his politics. I don't trust politicians, be it Democrat or Republican. At the Washington level, whenever a politician does something, I have little doubt that it's not the best interest of the American people that's their goal, it's more of what's in their own best interest that takes precedence. That's why I say it doesn't matter to me one way or the other. If president Obama, the Democrats and Republicans in Washington wanted to show real solidarity or real concern for the American people, they'd work together, put aside party allegiance, and start paying down the debt and solving the real problems in this country. But, that's not going to happen and we know why.

With the bad UE numbers of Thursday and Friday maybe he will show some solidarity with those laid off...and lay himself off.

I applaud the president for the gesture . I will not minimize it . We still need a real solution and budget put forth. I hope this is a step in the right direction .

The other key issue being ignored is the 24k retail jobs lost this past month that directly tie to the increase in the payroll tax.

The Sequester happened and BHO I didn't get the public backlash against the Republicans that he wanted, in fact most of the backlash was aimed at him and he really doesn't like that. So now he makes a totally useless gesture just so he can say he feels the "little" man's pain. How the "little" man can think for 1 second that BHO I has any concept of what they are going through amazes me.

That furlough crap and people losing their jobs are because he and congress couldn't, in an adult manner, make proper cuts. So they put other peoples jobs and paychecks on the line as bargaining chips for political gain.

 

Obama signed off on the deal. So no, I won't be giving him props.

And that is exactly what has happened. It is all a big game to them, imo. I think they sit around laughing at us all in private.

I am willing to give Obama full credit when he does something good. However, those results are hard to find. To be more than symbolic, he should have forfeited all of his pay. He has no expenses, and he is already a millionaire is he not?
