Not only does the hard working American people pay for the 90 million out of work folks on welfare, we also have to pay for the first families over the top parties , vacations, JayZ taking his wife to Cuba, you name it it is coming out of your pay check.

Yes, but maybe they should be paid on a variable basis for performance. Maybe what we are missing is unified goal setting: Some Quantitative - 80% weighted Unemployment Employment % change in growth Inflation Deficit % change GDP % change Welfare enrollment % change Some qualitative - 20% weighted consumer confidence index stock market index? One can see by these measurements that I think the government leadership plays a large hand in the allocation of resources (economic), and I believe the federal government should stay out of legislating moral issues. Just a random thought.
April 16, 201313 yr Strange but very true but both President George Washington and President John Adams felt that the biggest problem that the new nation would face in the future, was Politicians being more for their parties, than for what would be best for their Country and or the people who they represented! That is my problem with politics, vote for one guy and you get 300, they just do what their party wants. I am a conservative but I am close to the middle on most things. My dad always use to say, when you have 2, it can always be divided. That rules is just good old commonsense.
April 16, 201313 yr What should he have done then since you have all of the right answers? To me, Obama taking a pay cut of 5% does absolutely nothing for me. I'm an Independent, so I don't have a political stance one way or the other. The fact here is that 5% of 300k, or thereabouts, is 15k. On top of that, Obama has to pay for NOTHING in terms of living costs. Additionally, once he leaves office, he'll make millions per year. That is far less of a difference than 5% of someone making 60k. They have to pay for everyday costs NOW. They don't have the opportunity to get booked for appearances and speak engagements. All they want to do is be able to keep paying the mortgage and eventually retire. This is posturing. If he truly wanted to show solidarity, do a cut that hurts. If not, don't do anything. This is a half-butt thing that will rally supporters and make his opponents just shake their heads.
