Sac bunt by Aybar. Still look for Trout to steal a base here.

Please note the strategy was the same for the Angels today as it was for the Reds last night. Get leadoff runner on BUNT him over. Angels faced Votto and lost. Reds faced Pujols and got him out.

Both managers made the same moves on back to back games and the Reds win both times. That's how baseball goes and why it is awesome!

Angles to consider in that situation.

1. The Angels bunted despite having arguably the best base stealing threat in baseball on first.

2. The Angels hitter who bunted was 3-3 on the day.

3. The Reds pitched to Pujols - lefty versus righty - despite one out, 1st base open and a left hander on deck.

The Reds had the nastiest reliever in the game pitching.

I know it's VERY early, but considering that Votto and Bruce combined for two hits in three games and that Ludwick went down on Opening Day, 2/3 against the Angels is more than good.

Not sure if you are agreeing with me or not. But last night:

Lefty on the mound for the Angels-usually harder to steal against. Pujols is a proven RBI man-including in today's fray. Some would say walk Pujols and face Hamilton in that situation. I say both games, both managers did the right thing, and glad it worked out for the Reds.

P.S.-stealing bases is not a given. Hanigan is tough to steal against. Not as familiar with the catching prowess of Conger who was behind the plate today for the Angels.

Love seeing Choo do as well as he has in this one.

I agree. I think he's doing the job he was hired for.

I am a big fan of Frazier, so it rocked watching him go yard and if you can't root for a guy like Heisey , something is wrong with you. So yes his homered rocked too.

EXACTLY! Until Heisey plays EVERY DAY for a month, how can anyone judge how he will do? I think he'll be fine, as well as Choo.

Um, the back of his baseball card tells the story

He's done it before and it wasn't a good result.

Um, the back of his baseball card tells the story

I still say Chris Heisey will be fine. If he gets to play beyond platooning and it turns out differently, I will gladly admit it.:thumb:

Exactly what wasn't good?

i didn't get to see it. I tried to watch on the mobile app. I assume you mean lefty on the mound for the reds facing Pujols. Would you rather walk him, face Hamilton with one out and risk being behind in the bottom of the inning? If you're talking about Trout stealing second, unless he's changed and fixed something from last season, his move is weak and he's long to the plate. Just really glad our guy was better than theirs. Glad he's no overrated.
Exactly what wasn't good?

I hope you're right but if he was as good as you hope there would not have been the urgency to sign Ludwick.

2 of 3 from the Angels is impressive. Now on to the Cards!
