GREAT group of kids but I can't imagine this will make them play any better or harder than they would have before.

I can agree with that. From a basketball standpoint, they are a better team with Ware playing though. Kid had really come into his own and for a large portion of the Oregon game, they were better with him on the court and Siva on the bench.

I am not picking on you, it is just human nature when discussing sports because I do it too. But what kind of mission is UL on that is different from the other three teams? To win the title?

I just believe there will be a personal attachment to winning it all now and not let down Ware. The situation of a fallen-team mate and in his home state should provided a 'win it for Kevin' focus that the other teams do not have. Just an extra incentive for the team to avoid getting distracted or letting down.

 

Like some say in the military: in battle you do not fight for a flag or a country or even yourself - you fight for your fellow comrades. The Cards are not the Band of Brothers of Normandy but they have something a little more win for.

I think the UK/UL parallels are cool here.

 

Both teams from the Commonwealth. Both made the Final Four as a Four seed 1 season after winning their conference tournaments, UK returned as the overall #1 seed and is the prohibitive favorite, UL is now doing the same. Give Dieng a unibrow.

WSU defense and rebounding are no joke. They have stayed in games and beaten some pretty darn good teams with this, defense and rebounding wins. Having said that I think that UL just has too much plus they are on a dominating roll through this tournament. Should UL jump out to a big lead early, its a 25+ blowout. Should WSU play tough early the end result will be the same, just not by as much.

Agreed!! It might get interesting if Siva or Smith get in early foul trouble, but other than that, the Cards should roll.

I don't think I've wanted to win so bad in my life. I love these kids. Seeing these guys on or around campus has given me a tremendous amount of respect. Sincerely, a great group of guys. I've had the pleasure of actually speaking with Gorgui, Peyton, Marra, Vantreese and Behanan. All were incredibly polite and seemed very humble.

I don't think I've wanted to win so bad in my life. I love these kids. Seeing these guys on or around campus has given me a tremendous amount of respect. Sincerely, a great group of guys.
