March 29, 201313 yr That's exactly why Mike Brown is a genious. He knows he's got us right where he wants us. We want 'pro' football and will do whatever it takes to keep it (see the big concrete thing on the river bank). He gives us average football and we keep buying gear, tail gating and scooping up tickets while he runs to the bank with his profits. The guy is a GENIOUS. He may be a jerk, but is a financial genious. This I agree with. He clearly understands he doesn't have to win to make money. He also isn't gonna pay money for a GM. Mikey just wants Cincy to keep showing him the money and he will field a team.

March 29, 201313 yr The Bengals are consistently average, and they are content on that. Just enough to make the playoffs without spending anymore money to get them to a Super Bowl, or at least win one freaking playoff game.
March 30, 201313 yr Don't know if they were the best in FA but I really like what they've done. They have to save cap room because Atkins, Green and Dalton are going to be expensive and they will have to pay top 5 for Atkins, top 1-2 for Green and a little above average for Dalton.

Geno and AJ will cost a lot but I wouldn't put Dalton in that same level if he has another year like last year.

Or if you have the best WR in the game but have no one that can get the ball to him, especially when he is wide open, what does that get you? nothing. April 6, 201313 yr Now to an actual discussion on the Bengals. I seen the Raiders waived Ronaldo McClain (sp.) this seems to be a type of guy the Bengals like to go after and has had some success with actually. Talented high draft pick guy who had underachieved for another team.

Who knows maybe even we can go back in time and the Ravens can sign Boldin and Webb as free agents again. Wait a minute that didn't happen either, and once again I have to point out another fact to you that you posted not true. I think your history of post supports how maybe 50% of what you say is actually true or a fact. Just like last year when you kept saying I said the Bengals will win the Super Bowl. When all I have said is if a team can get in the playoffs, then anything can happen. Just like no one thought any chance the Ravens win the Super Bowl with how flat out bad they were going into the playoffs. You get in then anything can happen, and that is all you can ask for. The Bengals are now a playoff team and keeping their young core together, which means they should get better. Another year of knowing your assignments and what your teammates next you will do. Another year to add some of the pieces from last years draft into the mix. Another year to add possibly a few starters in the draft with their first 3 picks in the 1st two rounds. I know their way of the last 20 years had suck. However their way has now worked and it is the right way to do things and keep building from it. The Big question mark IMO comes down to Dalton. He has to improve in his third year, or I agree it won't matter because they can't make a run in the playoffs if he doesn't play better.
