It's Mike Brown you are talking about. One thing you must learn about Mike Brown is 1. He doesn't care about the fans

2. He doesn't care about excitement.

3. He is all about the bottomline and what goes into his pocket.

4. He knows if the Bengals don't sell here there are a dozen other cities that would give him anything he wants to move there

5. The Bengals had among the most money to spend this off season and yet still did nothing to improve the team.

 

#5 alone should speak volumes of how and what Mike Brown is all about.

 

Mike's sole interest and purpose is to make money. Mike is not in the game to win, nor has he ever been in the game to win. Can anyone truly point to anything Mike Brown has done to try and improve the team by getting a known impact great player in his prime? Shoot, lets not look at players even, has Mike Brown ever hired a proven winner in their prime at anytime and brought them to this team? I'm talking even coaches folks. Has Mike Brown ever hired a proven head coach with a winning track record? Shoot, the majority of the coaches under Mike Brown's reign have never even been head coaches before.

 

It's the same thing every single year. The fans all get excited about the off season and what the bengals can do to improve the team with all the money they have to spend, yet year after year after year Mike Brown does nothing and the only big names he ever brings in are guys 5 years past their prime...at least.

 

So please, before anyone starts talking about how Mike Brown has this great plan that no one else has, save us all the time and come to the realization Mike Brown could care less about anything but making money....and winning isn't in that equation. He has already proved he can make millions and millions each and every year by losing. He has no incentive to change his ways, why would he change now?

Last I checked the Redskins and Eagles both have gone much further in the playoffs than the Bengals have in the past 20 years. So while you will let other teams win in Free Agency the Bengals continue to do the same thing over and over and the outcome is the same over and over.

Your arguement continues to go back multiple years. I guess 3 out of 4 years in the playoffs doesn't put them on the right track. Super Bowl or bust baby...

 

Heres the thing. I was there when they sucked back in the 90's and early 2000's. It was miserable. They didn't have a fighters chance. I stuck it out. Now I enjoy watching them compete. They're not the Patriots, but they are better than average. Forgive me for not jumping overboard because they haven't reached the summit.

Your last sentence sums it all up for me. Until they can compete for a SB then they sstill aren't there yet. Bottomline, making the playoffs and losing in the first round everytime is not impressive at all. You know what the difference is between the team the last 10 years and the team the prvious 10 years? Nothing, they still haven't won a playoff game.

 

Win and get to the Super bowl and then I will give them credit. Until then they get no credit for having more losing seasons than winning seasons even under Marvin Lewis.

That's exactly why Mike Brown is a genious. He knows he's got us right where he wants us. We want 'pro' football and will do whatever it takes to keep it (see the big concrete thing on the river bank). He gives us average football and we keep buying gear, tail gating and scooping up tickets while he runs to the bank with his profits.

 

The guy is a GENIOUS. He may be a jerk, but is a financial genious.
