What is the greatest comedy of all-time?

Featured Replies

Been having this discussion with a guy I work with. We have it narrowed down to about 5 movies. You guys may disagree but what we have boggled it down to is Tommy Boy, Dumb and Dumber, Anchorman, Spaceballs and Shaun of the Dead. Of those 5 I think Dumb and Dumber is the best. What do you guys think?

Almost forgot Happy Gilmore/Billy Madision... Shame on me

This should be interesting.

I think The Hangover, That's My Boy and Life are all funnier than those you mentioned. I need time to think of other funny movies.

I agree about The Hangover. Never seen That's my Boy though. Heard it was terrible.

Dumb and Dumber is absolutely chalked full of one liners. Gets my vote. Friday deserves a mention as well.

Oh man, so many great ones to choose from, in the words of Kai, "I can't call it".

Some of my favorites in no particular order:

The Jerk, History of the World: Part I, Young Frankenstein, Planes, Trains & Automobiles, Blazing Saddles, The Blues Brothers, The Waterboy, Animal House, Caddyshack, Wedding Crashers, The Big Lebowski, Airplane!, Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery, Office Space, Old School, The Hangover, Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

I just can't pick one over the rest, I love them all!

"Wedding Crashers", "Blazing Saddles", and "Caddyshack" are my top 3. "Fletch" and "Tommy Boy" would be also receiving votes.

+1 on Caddyshack...And I will add Stripes.:thumb:

Billy Madison, Wedding Crashers, The Hangover and Anchorman are among my favorite. Oh and Step Brothers.

Good call on Stripes

All that you posted are great, but I particularly love Office Space...

What would you do if you had a million dollars?:sssh:

Bob Slydell: I'll be honest with you, I love his music. I do. I'm a Michael Bolton fan. For my money, I don't know if it gets any better than when he sings "When a Man Loves a Woman".

Not in any order:

Airplane II

Dumb & Dumber

Ace Ventura: Pet Detective

Friday

Blazing Saddles

I love Step brothers, dumb and dumber and Tommy Boy.

My all time favorite is Hollywood Knights.

Anyone remember that one?
