You didn't read my post correctly. I was saying that Bolden isn't exactly so far away from Beal that he would be lucky to carry Beal his water, as was stated. I was saying that he isn't exactly the 8th or 9th best player on his team. He's one of Holmes all timers. I said Beal was the BEST PG in 9th region history.

Well if anyone knows my dad they knew that practices were going to be an all out get after. My dad would purposely have my brother guard Dicky at all times. And because Dicky was about a year and half older it made for some frustrating times for Bill. I can tell you this though. My brother will flat out tell you that Dicky was the one that made him the player that he became. Great experiences and great memories. Wouldn't it be fun to find all of the fellas and get together?

 

Welcome to BGP Deron, you have a great basketball family. Your bother Scott and your pops did an outstanding job on the bench at Highlands this yr for the 7th grade boys. I love hearing all the old stories about Jr Pro and Dickie Beal. My cousin Mike Vories had many battles with Dickie when he played at Highlands. You talk about an encyclopedia of information on hoops, Mike is the guy.

Jeez. Bolden isn't surrounded by the talent that Beal played with either. Tough to compare a very, very good PG to the best PG to ever play in the 9th. However, to go this far???? Bolden will go down as one of the best ever at Holmes. Not exactly 8th or 9th man on his team.

He may go down as one of the best ever at Holmes, but he will be behind The Best Ever ​at Homes in Dickie.

2 of the quickest players I have seen in the 9th. Mr Beal and Mr Bolden. If you have to choose one to lead your team who do you pick. I think their games are familiar.

Their games aren't similiar at all. Beal was a true point guard who ran the offense, distributed the ball, and scored when the situation called for it. Bolden looks to score all the time and only passes when he doesn't have a shot. Not a point guard at all. Would take Beal, easily.

Let me disagree in regards , at least, to this season.

I know I may get abused for thos comparison, but there is o e player with the talent that compared to D Beals at the time he played that reminds me of his way of playing offense and that is Sydney Moss.

 

Both players it would always seem to enjoy getting an assist and including their teamates in the offensive side than to actually score themselves.

 

Dicky's defense I always thought was very underrated too. He was one of the best defenders I seen back in the day also and it was all due to his quickness and his quick hands. He was tenacious on defense.

78 Holmes state finalist team is in the conversation with best 9th region team ever. They were loaded. 79 and 80 were no slouches either. I saw Holmes this season, no comparison as far as talent. As far as betwenn the two players, Beal holds the candle. If Bolden can add some strength, he can get there though.
