It's all about who you surround yourselves with. obviously, Chief's inner circle has better things to talk about then firing a very successful coach because of 1 silly loss.

 

My inner circle does as well, but we acknowledge the fact that the speculation is there. I don't agree with people who say he should be let go, but every year after they lose this talk comes about, personally I think O'Hearn is a fine coach.

Where was all of these fans at last year when Mason went to another Regional final with a team that should have lost to Augusta last year. Augusta would have beat most teams in the Region that night and had a grudge against Mason. They made 10 threes and 18-20 from the line. Against Bracken I think they missed their first three or four FT. O'Hearn is a great Coach and is not going anywhere unless he chooses.

While I fully understand the desire to come to Coach O'Hearns defense, deservedly so, I might add, we're probably giving way too much credit/attention to a couple of yea-hoos in the "Comment Line".

I agree. And that is why I made a suggestion earlier that has since been removed.

There is way more talk than some of you want to believe. I only work in Mason Co. and hear it every year that the Royals don't make it to Rupp. With a lot of Mason fans anything less than a trip to Rupp is unacceptable. I believe Coach Ohearn is a good coach and it's crazy talk but there is talk.

I do have to say, I have heard it from one or two people that don't like him. But I have heard that about any coach, of any sport, at any school. Everyone and their brother thinks they could do a better job, it's not unique to Mason County or Chris O'Hearn.

Agreed. Can't believe this thread is still going. Coach O'Hearn is a great coach with a state title. If they are not complaining about you then you're not doing your job!

As Like I said I'm not a fan of MC but this stuff in the paper called HOW YOU SEE IT, just couldn't believe someone would berate one of the regions best coaches. They should accept that Augusta was the better team that night and get over it.

I don't live in Maysville and haven't watched this year's Mason Co team, but It's beyond ridiculous for anyone to question Chris O'Hearn's coaching abilities. Not only does he do a great job but he is easily regarded as one of the 5-10 best coaches in the state. I don't know official stats, but I believe he has only been the head coach their for 7-8 years and has stuffed the trophy case with 4 regional titles, 1 state title and 1 final four finish in 8 years. They should be naming streets for the guy IMO.
