The rims at Holmes are ridiculously soft and forgiving. Now, that helps BOTH teams at Holmes. However, I do wonder as well, does this hurt the Dawgs outside shooting outside of their home court? They only lost 1 game I get that, but I often wonder if they will shoot it well at BOKC. We'll see.

Right, Totally respect what the Dawgs have done this year. But in that game both them and NC shot lights out.

 

Look, IMO the Dawgs are the 2nd best team in 9th. But They trailed NC by 8-13 most of the second half. Having said that, I said in another thread that CovCath pulls the upset on Friday, so I don't want to contradict myself. I just see CovCath shooting it well again at Holmes. I just think ALL teams shoot well there and feel the Dawgs could find the shooting not so easy in BOKC. Just a theory. That's why they play the games, I guess!!

I think there are several Northern Ky coaches that are a little over-valued, but since I'm not willing to invest the time they sacrifice for their teams, I try not to criticize too heavily. That said, I don't hate you for saying it.

Everyone will struggle initially shooting in an arena with deep site-lines, so that should balance out okay.

 

However, Bolden will be even better on the more spacious college court.

Conventional wisdom says the quicker team (holmes) will make better use of the spacious college court. But NC gets back well and are quicker than most. They do not rely on the outside shot as much as Holmes so that is where I think there can be a potential edge over Holmes. As you said, all teams will struggle. NC gets more inside game.

 

We're a long way off from that potential match-up (at least in the finals).

The rims at Holmes are the same rims that are at the Bank of Kentucky Center, from what I was told. They are the breakaway rims that flex in the direction of the pull. You dunk it from the side, it will flex to that side and the same from the front.

Obviously, they will have a little more give.

That always helped me when I played. Being pretty close to the rim helps too....sometimes.

I agree Solomon, and unless they had to give up the right to play there-the money deal wouldn't have been worth it for me if I was an Indian fan. The chance to make the region tourney after many years or the money. Give me the region tourney Alex.

Sounds strange that this just came up this year. So they can host district seeding games but not district tournament games?? Trying to follow the logic. Wonder if this becomes a permanent ban?
