Covington Catholic 69 Holy Cross 57

Featured Replies

I was thinking the same thing tonight. HC is in the wrong district.

At one point I knew the actual record dating back to '97.

I think Holy Cross only has 3 or 4 wins in that time frame, one of which was in the last 2 years.

Won regular season game in 2011 and 2012. Lost the subsequent district game.

Unfortunately for HC fans it's going to get worse over the next few years.

Truth.

Holmes and Covcath both have some very good talent coming up.

This is just me thinking out loud, but it really wouldn't surprise me to see Markel end up back at Holmes.

Isn't there an annual requirement for such a transfer?

Good game. Balanced scoring for CCH which was nice. Bo hit shots he hasn't hit in quite a while and played with a lot of confidence. Then you have Eric Goetz' nightmare aka Max Pauly once again killing the tribe.

Great to see Nick Fredrick out playing aggressively.

Tobler busted his hump the entire night against Campbell. AC didn't shoot well and Tobs gets part of the credit for that.

I'm sure Max would have loved to be out there, but it was Sawyer.

Ya gotta weigh your options year to year down in LAtonia apparently cuz we all know the most important thing in life is playing for a winning basketball program.

Congrats to the Colonels and nice to see Frederick back in uniform and helping his team.

Pretty strong commitment there by the team to shave their heads. LOL

I hope it works out for them.

Great TEAM win by the Colonels.

Bo & Sawyer stepped it up offensively hitting the midrange jumpers with Campbell sagging defensively.

Ruthsatz played one of his better games, under control, playing within himself, solid game.

Tobler played a very good defensive game on Campbell.

Freddy in the game was the difference. He brings a level of confidence to the team that is not there when he's out.

This.

Not to mention, he is a second creator, and you have to defend beyond the arc with more aggressive close-outs when he is in, which with his handle, he can take advantage of. They are a comletely different team when he is playing, whether he scores or not.

Good win for CovCath.

I think it might be a stretch to say Frederick "was the difference in the game".

Any team getting back a starter, especially a Senior is going to get a boost. Last night Pauly and Schuh were outstanding. Bo had to have close to double digit rebounds in addition to his 22. Tobler was tough vs. Campbell, limiting his touches and forcing off-balance shots.

Frederick hit a nice 3-ball from the corner.

CC played with all the confidence in the world as they did not hesitate to shoot, kept the foot on gas pedal. If Frederick means that much in the locker room and on the floor I'll give you that, but others had great games. Team effort.

Good win for CovCath.

Nick Fredrick's presence is not really being overstated. When is not playing CCH has only one player who can handle the ball and get CCH in offense. Last night Nick R got two quick fouls in the first qtr. For the last week or so that spelled trouble for CCH. Last night Nick Fredrick took over and the offense didn't skip a beat.

If it's not Jordan Pauly I never remember which Pauly be which.

Good win for CovCath.

Certainly not taking away anything from the other players.

Tobler, Ruthsatz, Pauly all played the game they needed to play & can play.

Bo had a career game.

But Fredrick being in the line up brings a level of confidence to this team, he raises their level of play.

They were a totally different team then they have been for the last 3 weeks without him.

Just finished the highlights for both teams. Saving to laptop now, then the only thing left to do is upload them.
