February 14, 201313 yr Planning on hitting a couple during the Lent Season. Which ones should I consider?
February 14, 201313 yr What part of the state are we talking? I really like Our Mother of Sorrows in Louisville. Good stuff, and right next to the house I lived in as an undergrad!
February 14, 201313 yr ^ Never been to OMOS. I'll have to check that one out this year. As for as the rest of Louisville, I've long been partial to St. James in the Highlands. It's always extremely crowded and in a small room which is a problem, but they serve beer from Cumberland Brews so that on its own puts them way out front. I didn't go last year, but St. Raphael always seemed to make a good piece of fish.
February 14, 201313 yr I'm a fan of the Ludlow Knights of Columbus: Fr. Kehoe Council. Great onion rings! They've also got fried fish sandwiches, beer battered fried fish, baked cod, and fried shrimp. There's also Mary Queen in Erlanger if you're looking for a little more quality over price.
February 14, 201313 yr How about in NKY? Mary Queen of Heaven is the best around. I also like St. Mary's in Alexandria (may only be because I grew up there though). Has anyone tried St. Patrick's out in Taylor Mill/Independence?
February 14, 201313 yr St Patricks is a 2 minute drive from my house. I havent tried it in the 3 years we have lived in Independence but plan on taking the family this year. Not only to checkout the food but also the church and maybe join.

February 14, 201313 yr Why do you say that? I have heard people say that. I have been there and there is nothing memorable about it. Because the taste and quality of the fish far exceeds any other fish fry around.

My judgment is based on the traditional fish, fries (or onion rings) and slaw, not the rest of the menu or "The Codfather" marketing efforts. I will report back with my thoughts.
