Thought this would be a more competitive game.

ND is very good, those who note their length are exactly correct and they are strong. They have 3 D1 athletes on the floor and it showed. The other two starters are not that bad as well and I would think could play ball at the college level if they desire. They were well coached and their fans were first class. Conner needs to go back to the drawing board but I also think they were distracted a little because of senior night. No excuses because they got beat real good! Hope they rebound. ND playing like they did tonight will be tough to beat.

As said before, it is the time of year to win and win big. Conner has been struggling and NDA is getting a full charge going. Let's play ball. Remember though the favorite seldom wins the Region so keep on trucking everybody.

Couldn't disagree more . . . that's what people always say about teams this time of year when they get blown out. Rematch?? Why would anyone want a rematch with ND right now? They are peaking at the right time. The last 3 teams Conner lost to, ND beat - with 2 of the 3 in blowout fashion. Are you sure Conner isn't pulling a "New Cath" ?

Girl's HS basketball is such a mental and emotional game. I'm not sure Conner can recover from these late season beat downs. If they don't beat NCC (who is also struggling) I say you can stick a fork in the Cougars for this season. Nell has to be drooling.

NDA seems to be the only NKy program that is immune from the proverbial "laying of the egg". Every other program out there has 1 or 2 games where they just don't show up mentally. NDA's coaching staff desevers credit for their kids being ready to play every game.

Conner only had 21 shot attempts first half and 19 attempts in the second. The NDA defense was swarming even thru many Illegal screens. Only 2-3 shots for conner were not contested. If the Pandas continue playing defense as in the last 5 games they will be a tough out in the post season. Offensively, every player on the floor can shoot, dribble and pass. Unlike what I saw from them in previous years, they share the basketball! On One play tonight all five players touched the ball within 3-4 seconds resulting in a layup for Smith girl. It was impressive. On another note I was very impressed with the Meyers girl from Conner, she is quality player and person. I saw her congratulating some of her aau team mates from NDA after the game. Very Classy Lady!

Thanks for pointing this out Madi has really improved her game and is a class act. Lot of great kids on both these teams.

Notre Dame is the favorite to win the Region this year no doubt. Others can pull the upset, but it will be that, an upset. Conner, Ryle, Cooper, Boone-they all have to make the region just like NCC and Highlands.

 

Notre Dame will unquestionably be in the region which is step 1 to winning the region.

her feet each time the offensive player was moving and slid toward the defender. I was told the officials were the top 3 refs in the region and after watching the video there should have been 10-12 more foul calls. Refs just don't call enough fouls, its "The Midwest Hoops" keep the game on schedule mentality. Ref told me last night he would only call a foul if it affected the shot. Another stated girls are failing down all the time with no contact. Maybe the contact is why we are losing basketball talent to Volleyball. Here are 3 from 1st qtr

After reading the box score , I noticed there were only 11 made free throws by BOTH teams. That is not indicative of two teams attacking the basket. Either there was not much defense played, or contact was allowed. I've already commented that I perceived 9th region officials allow more contact than 8th. Seems to be something to it.
