Conner is 4-4 in their last 8 games with New Cath left to play. Then they face Boone Co. in district play. They may not make the regional and all those questioning their schedule strength early in the season are going to say I told you so.

You could say that I'm pretty close to Madi and she does play very physical, but ultimately these were not fouls because they were not called... although there was one that probably should have :sssh:. She's aware that it's something she needs to work on. And I really don't have a problem with rocketky posting the pictures to try to prove his point.

 

Just to let the other readers know, as far as knocking "the girl off her feet" (Paige), I can tell you it wasn't intentional or dirty. Madi and Paige played on the same AAU team last summer and know each other very well. I know rocketky, and know he didn't imply this, especially after his first post on this thread.

Just to be clear, As i have stated in earlier posts. Madi is a great player and classy individual. SHe is NOT a Dirty Player! I could of showed screens from both teams that were questionable involving multiple players. My point is the refs need to do a better job keeping up with the speed of the game when you have good atheletes. I actually had a kid break their leg during a

illegal screen. Which makes me more sensitive to it. The rule says a screen must be stationary with both feet planted shoulder width apart. It's on the ballhandler to setup the defender.

Thanks for pointing this out Madi has really improved her game and is a class act. Lot of great kids on both these teams.

 

Madi has worked very hard in the last year to make herself a very much improved player this season. Next year should be a very big season for Madi. It is especially nice to see good things happen to a good kid and Madi is definitely a quality young lady.

ND is a lock to make Region.............meanwhile NCC or Highlands will be out, Boone Co or Conner will be out, Holy Cross could be out (Holmes won regular season game).........things could really fall in line for ND especially if they draw the loser of 36th in first round and get the BYE.

Look at the picture where her foot is off the ground. Assume she was already set prior to that foot coming up it gives you a picture of how it can be legal. Set. Feet aren't out wide.

Agreed that sometimes you have to re-read or think about what it's saying (or implying) in the ol' rulebook.

 

The main thing to look for in an illegal screen are : moving when the pick is being set (note: AS contact is being made), arms thrown out to protect the picker, hip checks, feet too wide.
