  1. She was on NDA campus yesterday with Kim Gunning.
  2. That really depends on who they get for a coach. All the starters have strong ties to other sports and are crushed by the NDA Decision to remove Nicole. Not to mention the lack of support they received during state tourney run from the administration.
  3. Not to mention a finalist for Ms. Ky in Larryn Brooks. This was a TEAM effort. Clemons 36 minutes 4 assist 2 blocks 4 Steals 4 Rebounds 7 points Kellam 33 Minutes 4 assist 2 Steals 9 rebounds 13 points Smith 36 minutes 6 assist 1 block 14 rebonds 11 points Voskul 36 minutes 1 assist 1 block 5 rebounds 14 points Ogle 30 minutes 1 assist 3 blocks 3 rebounds 9 points Stallman 9 minutes 1 rebound 5 points 2-2 from line
  4. When my daughter was in 7th and 8th grade we went to watch boone county play. Since we are boone residents I wanted to have a good understanding of what she would be facing. After watching her coaching style we felt it would not be good for our daughter so we decided on NDA. The decision worked out great for us (especially this year). My daughter and I felt that the coach should be coaching the game and focusing on adjustments rather than screaming at players. I am not against getting on someone's case but its better served during practice than in game situations. If the coach is out of control, how can you expect the players to be in control.
  5. I think both coaches did a great job. Both teams were diving on the floor and fought hard. This game was just like the first matchup. HHS cut the lead to 2 late in 3rd quarter then before you knew it NDA was up 15. In big games like last night it's really on the players to make plays. ND made a few more last night.
  6. ND has serveral special kids that play key roles. Ogle is the best defender around. I was very impressed with the Grit Highlands Showed tonite. The really took the the fight to ND. They played their hearts out and should be commended for the effort. ND is a better Team and showed it tonite.
  7. I need to do a better job screening my sources as I was told that by a referee. Thanks for the update.
  8. Just to be clear, As i have stated in earlier posts. Madi is a great player and classy individual. SHe is NOT a Dirty Player! I could of showed screens from both teams that were questionable involving multiple players. My point is the refs need to do a better job keeping up with the speed of the game when you have good atheletes. I actually had a kid break their leg during a illegal screen. Which makes me more sensitive to it. The rule says a screen must be stationary with both feet planted shoulder width apart. It's on the ballhandler to setup the defender.
  9. I agree thats why I don't argue calls during the game and why I video tape and review. Most of the time the good officials make the right call. It's just odd when I have seen 4-5 girls games this year when neither team reached the Bonus (in both halves) or did so at very end.
  10. I have the advantage of video tape the refs don't have. I watched 3 in particular where ND defender was knocked off her feet each time the offensive player was moving and slid toward the defender. I was told the officials were the top 3 refs in the region and after watching the video there should have been 10-12 more foul calls. Refs just don't call enough fouls, its "The Midwest Hoops" keep the game on schedule mentality. Ref told me last night he would only call a foul if it affected the shot. Another stated girls are failing down all the time with no contact. Maybe the contact is why we are losing basketball talent to Volleyball. Here are 3 from 1st qtr
  11. Conner only had 21 shot attempts first half and 19 attempts in the second. The NDA defense was swarming even thru many Illegal screens. Only 2-3 shots for conner were not contested. If the Pandas continue playing defense as in the last 5 games they will be a tough out in the post season. Offensively, every player on the floor can shoot, dribble and pass. Unlike what I saw from them in previous years, they share the basketball! On One play tonight all five players touched the ball within 3-4 seconds resulting in a layup for Smith girl. It was impressive. On another note I was very impressed with the Meyers girl from Conner, she is quality player and person. I saw her congratulating some of her aau team mates from NDA after the game. Very Classy Lady!
  12. Not sure what is going on with them. I watch the coach bench the starters during the Holy Cross game. May have backfired as i saw several players rolling there eyes at the coach and walking up the court last night against ND. ND is looking strong blowing out St Henry, Holmes, Scott and now NCC. Let's see how both teams play against Conner next week..
  13. Should be a great game as 3 startes for ND and 2 starters for NCC played together this summer and won a national championship! I would give the edge to ND. They have a variety of ways to score while NCC leans heavily on Kiernan. E. Ogle (The best defender in the region) will guard N. Kiernan (The best offensive talent in region) . This battlle will go along way to in determining the outcome of the game. I hope both teams bring their best for an exciting game!
  14. NCC came out flat and went down 8 points to start the game. The coach put in the JV players and they battled it back to 3 points. Holy Cross pushed the lead to 21 in third quarter and coasted from there. HC is good. Kiernan struggled a bit with the size of HC but was the only reason it wasn't a 20+ point game. NCC looked very tired while HC had more hustle plays. NCC guards could not find the rim on shots most of the night. Not sure if it was HC defense or tired legs.
