I disagree. Pangallo was very good but Seibert was unreal. If anyone stole the show on the NCC side it was Seibert.

 

Seibert played a heck of a game(Easy to pin you ears back and play when your team is leading the entire game. NCC had nothing to lose and everything to gain they was hungry.). But it was Seibert(should of been nail in the coffin) who missed the freethows that left the door open for Holmes to go down and take a two point lead on Bolden three. NCC should of won by 20 plus the was up 13 or 14 one late 3rd early 4th during the intentional foul called.

 

Pangallo show guts and Poise to go down and get the basket( he didnt look for team captain and in Bueter and Seibert He had on thing on his mind and he accomplished it, tie the game. Biggest shot in the game in my opinion.

Englemon and Coston foul trouble was the biggest difference in this game...plain and simple. Holmes couldn't handle Newcath's size or experience without those two on the floor. I do think Housely did a good job while in there but without Englemon, Holmes had no answer inside for Schulte or Seibert. Seibert absolutely lit it up tonight from every where on the floor. Career night in the biggest game of the regular season.

 

James Bolden...well the stats speak for theself. Finished with 37 points on 13-28 shooting and hit what should've been the game winning 3 but Pangallo dribbled down the floor, hesitated like he was going to call a timeout, then drove for a game tying wide open jumper. Second OT Holmes has a 3 pt lead and they foul Beuter for an and one. Just let him have the bucket and then trust the free throw shooting of Bolden and Palmer.

 

Would love to see a rematch.

He buried that shot like it was just another day at the office, and his trey a minute or so earlier stymied a Dawgs run that could have really spelled disaster for the Breds. For a kid that was playing a little "under the weather" it was an unbelievable effort. :notworthy:

Three things would suggest you should at least be open to the idea that there are 4 teams:

 

CovCath beat NewCath on the hill.

Cooper beat CovCath without Fredrick, not the same.

CovCath beat Clinton Co by 30+ the night after they beat Cooper.

 

That said, Cooper can defend their tails off and have some very good pieces too. Plus, if Fredrick is out than CovCath won't get out of districts.

I am open to 4 teams, i was making the comment due to the post i was replying to seemed to forget about Cooper and just thought CCH, NCC and Holmes were the only teams that had a shot.

 

As far as CCH without Frederick, Cooper also played CCH with Big Lou hurting and not playing much (broken rib) So both teams were without a major part of their team.

You won't find a bigger Lou fan than me, especially as a young man off the court, but Nick Fredrick missing hurts CovCath in so many ways. I'd say it would be like playing Cooper without AJ -- whom I'm also an enormous fan of.

So NewCath wasn't called for one walk, one double dribble, one charge, or didn't throw one pass out of bounds? If that is the case, that is beyond amazing given Holmes' ball pressure.

 

I don't think Holmes got 7 steals, maybe 3-4. NCC was called for one charge. They may have lost it out of bounds a couple of times. I don't recall anything else. NCC played a very clean game turnover wise, as did Holmes. I really don't think Holmes had intense pressure until the last quarter. Bolden did guard Pangallo full court but he handled it pretty easily, but he was tired. If Pangallo was not feeling well (I am not doubting it), he did not show it. He look winded in the 4th at times but gutted through it and as was stated made clutch shots. He is an outstanding ball handler and shooter.
