Don't underestimate Nick's ability to score the ball. He is a defensive stopper but he also has a diverse offensive game.

As said earlier, I don't think anyone thought Holmes could come back due to the fact they hadn't shown much intensity previously. When the dogs cut it to 8 after consecutive 3's by Bolden and Palmer, Brannen called a TO and I thought, the Breds will get settled and just make Ft's to seal it. There was probably 3-4 minutes left at that time. Seibert shortly after the TO took a quick ill-advised 3 IMO (probably the only thing he did wrong all night, but he wasn't missing much, who could blame him) and Holmes cut it to 6 on a Bolden drive leaning two. It was then and only then that I thought maybethe dogs can win this thing. The whole building just stated to get intense also. It was fun. I said to my wife to start the last quarter, we'll be lucky not to get beat by 20. NCC had been just that dominant. NCC really didn't lose composure, it was more of the dogs just getting hot and taking advantage of a couple of missed FT's, getting stops and limiting NCC to one shot (which they hadn't done at all game). This one was a tough one for the dogs, hopefully, they learned soe things, although you don't want to lose to do that. In the totality of the game NCC just played better.

I'd be curious to know how many treys the Dawgs hit during that comeback, it seemed the Breds were trading 3's for 2's. None the less, the Dawgs made one hell of a comeback.

A little perplexed by this. After an 85-82 double overtime game, you consider NewCath a "it is NCC's to lose" kind of favorite? I acknowledge I'm a Bulldog guy and all, but if Bolden's desperation three at the end of regulation or the layup at the end of the first overtime had gone in, and Holmes had escaped with a victory, I don't think - no, I KNOW - I would not be anointing Holmes the clear favorite. Two very well matched teams with contrasting styles. Could have gone either way tonight, and I would expect a similarly competitive game if they meet again.

Agree whole heartedly with this. When the smoke clears the only thing this game proved is that these teams are very well matched, and there are a LOT of good players on both teams. A million scenarios could have changed the outcome of this one. One thing is for sure, I think other teams will not want to draw in with them, but as far as the next time, if there is one, who knows.

Bolden is the best player I have seen since Dicky Beal. He is the real deal. Holmes played scared for three quarters, played not to lose instead of to win. I hope the rematch materializes in the regional final.

Dicky Beal,that brings back some nightmares lol. I had to guard him the first time we played him and let me put it this way, he could of made a highlight film of that game alone.

Three things would suggest you should at least be open to the idea that there are 4 teams:

 

CovCath beat NewCath on the hill.

Cooper beat CovCath without Fredrick, not the same.

CovCath beat Clinton Co by 30+ the night after they beat Cooper.

 

That said, Cooper can defend their tails off and have some very good pieces too. Plus, if Fredrick is out than CovCath won't get out of districts.
