Bolden is the best player I have seen since Dicky Beal. He is the real deal. Holmes played scared for three quarters, played not to lose instead of to win. I hope the rematch materializes in the regional final.

 

This going to sound crazy but NCC did a good job on him with Seibert's length and Schulte and McDonald coming way out to help. I don't know what they could have done differently in the last 6 minutes. He was making everything with guys all over him. He creates space on his 3 and has improved shooting unbelievably. His range is getting further out. He will get much more attention from colleges in teh next two years. He's getting quite a bit now.

I disagree. Pangallo was very good but Seibert was unreal. If anyone stole the show on the NCC side it was Seibert.

 

That had to be Seibert's best game in a long time. He just looked like he was not going to be denied. The kid did everything. Although the whole NCC team played well, Seibert was the difference in the game with his production. Coston just did not handle him well and got in foul trouble trying to. I agree with VOR Holmes intensity was not there for the first three quarters on the boards and offensively.

LB ... how big is Seibert? Is he getting any college interest?

I don't know either but he looked much bigger than I thought at floor level. His wing span makes him very lengthy. Bolden struggled with his length early.

He will get another inch or two. He is to D what his cousin Markie Krebs was to O. TEAM player, and if this gets him started offensively down the stretch...forget it.

A little perplexed by this. After an 85-82 double overtime game, you consider NewCath a "it is NCC's to lose" kind of favorite? I acknowledge I'm a Bulldog guy and all, but if Bolden's desperation three at the end of regulation or the layup at the end of the first overtime had gone in, and Holmes had escaped with a victory, I don't think - no, I KNOW - I would not be anointing Holmes the clear favorite. Two very well matched teams with contrasting styles. Could have gone either way tonight, and I would expect a similarly competitive game if they meet again.

With the way Cooper is playing, and the draw coming up, it is possible that neither one of these teams are in Lexington. They are neck and neck as the top 2.

Although NCC was the better team tonight and the most balanced team in the region, I really don't think they are a shoo-in or their's to lose. They will have to play like tonight to win it. Probably the favorite, but I believe there are 3 maybe four others that will make it challenging for them.

Heard about this game as I was watching another game. Sounds incredible, wish I could have seen it. The Dixie 4 OT game in the 9th region final a few years ago was the most exciting I had ever seen. Glad to hear so many played well for NCC, and Bolden appears to have been a star. That kid will go places! I hope the same for Seibert and Beuter this year. Are either of them getting any college level attention?

Actually, I was referring more to the Cooper fan that thought they had a shot. I am not a fan of either team. But have seen both. However, I picked NCC in this game and believe they are the team to beat. Not necessarily because the talent is that much better, although, over all, I believe it is, but because I believe the TEAM is better. Just my opinion. Let the Bulldogs prove me wrong...

The show Bolden put on in the 4th was reminiscent of Hatton against NC earlier this year. Crazy!

 

I didn't think Schulte would be effective against Holmes. I'm thrilled that I was not even close to being right. His footwork looked good. He took his time most of the time. Passed out of the block well. He can be a top player in the 9th next year with continued work.

 

Regarding the intentional foul call. Someone questioned it earlier. It was an easy textbook call. The Holmes defender grabbed Seibert around the neck from behind and pulled him down. Easy call.

 

Somone said there wasn't "much you could do with Bolden" in the 4th. Grant Brannen will disagree. He wanted the person defending the Holmes player setting the high pick to come out and double Bolden. They didn't do it very often and Grant was not pleased. IMO had they done as he wanted NCC wins in regulation.

The Dixie/NCC was the best game I ever saw up here because the stakes were so high and it was nip and tuck throughout. This game was actually a NCC dominated game until the last quarter. That last quarter , though was special for all the right reasons, kids hitting key shots, intensity went way up. It was like Holmes lulled them to sleep, them bam. They can score lots points in no time. NCC didn't lose it's poise and was just as clutch. It was the best regular season game I have seen in a while. The kids on both teams played their hearts out in a really hard fought clean game.

I am not a Cooper fan, you don't follow this much do you? I just call them as I see them. I respect them all and FYI I am a Holmes fan.
