Outside of Prewitt and Bach is there really much talent in the 10th?

 

Why do you make this statement? Are you seriously saying there is no one else that is talented on that list but Bach and Prewitt? You might want to get out of whatever Region you are in and check out some other players. McGovney, Monroe, Holbrook, and Saunders are worthy of that list and have plenty of talent. I am not saying that list could compete with every region but they would give the 9th a run for their money.

Against the top regions (6,7,11) I would probably start:

1-Snoop Johnson - Bourbon Co.

2-Brent Bach - Augusta

3-Omar Prewitt - Montgomery Co.

4-Darius Jones - Montgomery Co.

5-Justin Saunders -Bishop Brossart

 

By no means do I think these are the top 5 players in the region, but I think this gives the 10th the best chance to match up with their size and athleticism. I would also consider finding a spot in the lineup for Nick Jackson. I haven't seen McGovney this year, but from what I hear, he could be right there as well.

 

My other 5 would be:

Tyler Jones-Montgomery Co.

Mason Monroe-Pendleton Co.

Shawn Johnson-Mason Co.

Ben Uebel-Bishop Brossart

Dillon Pulliam-Harrison Co.

 

Nick jackson not being in the starting 5 is funny . Not being in the next 5 is downright hilarious. Go watch scott sometime, young man does everything for them.

McGovney was receiving letters and is supposed to announce his college choice tonight at Senior Night. Monroe is going to Transy from what I've heard. Holbrook is just a Junior but he has received his first letter. I am sure Saunders is getting looks but I cannot say for sure. Not sure how the other regions stack up when it comes to recruitment of their best talent.

I actually had him as my top guy not in the starting lineup, and mentioned I would consider finding him a starting spot. I intended to imply that he and McGovney were my 6th and 7th men, and the other 5 round out the 12 that mcraycraft was looking for. I apologize for my lack of clarity.

 

I agree that he is a tremendous player. He is the third best player I've seen in the region behind Prewitt and Bach. I think he is clearly ahead of Darius Jones and Justin Saunders, but I think they both provide something that would be required to be competitive with the best regional all-star teams. Jones is the closest the region can offer to matching the athleticism of a Jordan Green or Kelan Martin, and from my one time watching Saunders, he strikes me as a guy who would battle with anyone around the basket and is the best hope for a region lacking a true post player. I also don't start Jackson at the point because I think he would have a tougher time dealing with the quickness and athleticism of a Snider or Bosley than Snoop would. Finally, I think he is a little below Prewitt and Bach, and thus, I didn't see an opportunity to start him.

Wasn't being negative. If you see my other post I was merely saying I didnt see a lot of college players on the list. Maybe some D3 players (someone mentioned Monroe to Transy), but I was talking D1. It was a question not a statement.

Letters don't exactly equate to being recruited to that level. Every D1 school (other levels as well) acquire databases from services etc and they generate tons of letters. Just my opinion but until you get the phone call from someone on the coaching staff you are just another name on the list.

I don't know as much as I should about the other regions, but do know that it would be a pretty neat tourney to have. Each region put together a regional team and play until there is one standing. That would be pretty cool.
