RCC9 Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 It's a good thing I'm not a betting man. The rebels are hard to figure out. Obviously a good win for Boone! Whether each team showed anyone anything in this game or not, I still have to think its a confidence builder for Boone. Nice win!

Did they peak too early or will they get it together before tournament time? I don't know about the peaking too early thought. Maybe somewhat. I think more so, it is just that they are in the tougher part of their schedule where opponents are not as easy to get W's on. A reality check, if you will. It will be interesting to watch that district tournament and how the Cougars will finish. They certainly are capable of finishing strong, but it is for sure, Cooper, Ryle and Boone are not going to just hand it to them.

Boone played the way they needed to play. Conner had a very cold shooting night. I think Stamm will have them ready for the next meeting.

It was not the schedule they played, it was not the years of coaching, it really is quite simple. It's just Conner has hit a little rough patch in their season, and most teams even good teams go through stretches of not playing that well. I think most people in NKY would agree Conner is a really good shooting team, but just the last few games they have been missing shots they have made all year and not talking about contested shots. It happens, but at least it is happening now and didn't start during district tournament time. One thing is for sure though, it should be a great district tournament to watch.
Coach34 Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 GEEZ tough decision for me to make. Do I go and watch the rematch between Boone and Conner or the New Cath Highlands game? Either one will be a sure barn burner and a ton of emotion and passion in both games. Would like to see how the "new" head coach at New Cath goes against Highlands but then again I want to see if Fookes and the Lady Rebels can pull off a miracle and upset one of the best teams in the Region. This will be a game time decision!
