Those that have second thoughts weren't going to school with an ACT score of 34 and studying bioengineering. I think he'll be just fine with his Al Bundy-Polk High, 4 touchdowns in one game stories to tell his kids. This is the sign of an intelligent, and mature kid. Plus, Obama is going to outlaw college and NFL football soon.

Actually college is easy compared to Highlands. I think what the kids don't like right off the bat is the fact that they don't win every week and on top of it they get really frustrated with the fact that their teammates in college won't "work harder" then their opponents...

is a very true fact...

I remember Donovan was helping to move some trophies around the school the summer before his freshman year. The problem with Donovan is he would read every trophy and ask about it. Most were the State football trophies. He was actually affraid to move them. It took awhile. Loved how into the trophies he was and how special they were to him. So glad that now he and the team of 2012 have their own.

Very nice article about a very nice young man. Another super politeone who kept his nose clean and his head focused. Kid will be a success in life and represent very well. He is a leader.

I thought I saw where he would go to U of L engineering (Speed Scientific School). I wish him the best there.

Though he started for only his senior year, he was named first-team All-State quarterback.

 

He led his team to the Class 4A state football championship.

 

His numbers were outstanding: he passed for 2,769 yards and 32 touchdowns while running for 1,144 yards and another 22 touchdowns.

 

But Donovan McCoy won't be playing college football this coming fall. Instead he'll be putting all of his energy into academic endeavors.

 

McCoy, who has a 4.4 GPA at Highlands (Fort Thomas, Ky.) and scored a 34 on the ACT, told the Cincinnati Enquirer, "Up to the end of the season, I thought I was wanting to play and looking for a place to play but I have reached a point where I have gotten what I need out of football. I've played for 12 years and I'm 18 years old and my body has been to **** and back. I still love the game of football ... but as a player it's just something I'm ready to move on from."
