39th District Draw

Featured Replies

As for the draw this year, we'll (Augusta) lace'em up and give it our best and hopefully our best this year is good enough. In the future, I would like to see seeding put into effect based upon 1 game with each rival team each. I believe it's the right thing to do so the Regional tournament is as competitive for the fans as it can be. Better match ups bring more fans, more fans mean more money for the participating schools and everybody's happy.

Playing each team once, then I would have no problem.

I'm pretty sure that's how they do it in the 37th & 40th. In the 40th they might play more than once, but only one game counts.

Mason County has 26 games scheduled this year, including one against district opponent St. Patrick. If they were to play each district team once, that would be three out of 26 games, or 11%. They played regular season games with Beechwood and Paris this year, so it's not like they have some aversion to playing small schools. I can't imagine playing all three district opponents once would do anything to hurt the Mason County program.

And Nicholas County.

If you seed for boys, then you would seed for girls right?

Yes

This year we play each other twice. We always play MoCo twice, but in past years only played Paris, and Bourbon once.

Do both games count toward seeding or just one?

Correct. The 40th is already locked in. Montomery Co. vs Paris. Bourbon Co. vs Clark Co.

The 37th is waiting on the 1 seed. Brossart vs Scott on February 8. Campbell County will be #3, Calvary/SilverGrove 4 and 5.

I love the blind draw. It brings some added excitement to the tournament!! Wish the entire state would blind draw.

This year, both games count I have been told.

Interesting.

That hasn't always been the case, has it?

I wonder why the change?

We actually play each other twice.

We actually play each other twice.

But it hasn't always been the case that both of those game counted toward seeding, right?
