Highlands 54 Conner 48

Featured Replies

I don't think anyone should care about SK they aren't even in our region. This was a good game but in the long run really means nothing. Conner needs to worry more about the district games and tourney first.

Didn't mean we need to worry about SK.Sorry. Just saying that many, including myself, thought ND was the cream of the crop in the 9th. Despite losing to SK, ND and NCC will both be tough games for either Conner or HHS. In my opinion, the 9th if wide open for 4 and maybe 6 teams if a couple others get hot at the right time. I wouldn't write off Holmes or Holy Cross!

rean 21 u call out Pluto and Scott and suggest Coach Stamm needs to use his bench. R U questioning coach Stamm? My guess is he would have used his bench if he thought it would have helped. I guess everyone is entitled to their opinions but I do not think it is right calling young women out who are trying their best.

I didn't call out anyone!! I just said that I didn't think all of the cards were played. Every Conner player on the floor gave 110% & were very crucial in that game but I wonder if they had been able to rest a few minutes would they have been "fresher" at the end?! Conner has a deep bench that some may not realize. Stamm & the whole Conner coaching staff are amazing & have made this Conner program a top program once again!! I don't think a sub from the bench could have won the game for Conner but may have allowed starters some time to breathe...regroup...& kick tail when they went back in!! Gambrel was injured & couldn't play but it is evident that when she subs for Pluto or Hendricks, it makes a difference when they go back into the game!! Try & argue that point....stats don't lie my friend!!!

Would not argue that point although not sure how stats tells that story. I do not nor did not disagree that Gambrell could have helped, all I am saying is in your previous posts you mentioned 3 players by name and stated what they did to affect the loss, Conner lost by six points to a very good basketball team and gave them a good game.

This board is about discussing games. It's hard to discuss what happened without pointing out players that had a negative impact on their team. Unless it's getting personal then performances, good or bad, are fair game.

OK fair enough, Pluto was not on the floor when Highlands began to press and Scott did all she could out of position to carry her team. If those are factors that lead them to lose then I guess Mr. Clyde those who want to use names have that right.

Thank You!! These are high school girls playing extremely competitive basketball & not 1 of them gives less than 110% when they are on the court. The girls I "named" are excellent at what they do, I just meant the Highlands game was the first time I saw fear/deer-in-headlights on the faces of those girls & they panicked. Every player on the Conner team has learned a valuable lesson in that loss. Losing makes you hungry & tomorrow night Ryle better beware of this hungry Conner team!!!

Highlands pressed most of the game.

I did t see fear! I saw frustration. Big difference.

100 posts and 2700 views, excuse me but this is the girls forum.

A men! Shame on Pluto for getting into foul trouble and too bad Gambrell was injured. But again to be clear when they looked like "deer in the headlights" (as rean21 puts it), unfortunately they did not have a PG on floor. Hard to beat any press when you do not have your best ball handlers handling the ball.
