Congrats to Highlands for come back win, however the officials made way too many touch calls on both sides & it took away from the game. Highlands hustled but having seen them twice, I'm still not all that impressed. Conner only played 7 players the whole game, so I think Stamm may have left some cards up his sleeve!! I watched all 3 games & Stamm has some serious talent on that freshmen team. They won 48-27 with only 7 players on the team. Frye is powerful underneath & strong rebounder. Vest can drive the lane as well as hit the 3s & hustles. Boelter is fast, has amazing vertical jump for her size, and can also hurt driving lane for pull up jump shot or hitting from the outside. Stamm has a very deep bench full of talent, so we'll have to wait & see how he uses that talent the rest of the season!!!

 

They do have a nice freshman group, but keep in mind HHS had two starters out on the freshman team. And, there is not a freshman on the freshman team for HHS! They start a 6th grader at point. The rest are 7th and 8th.

I don't care if Highlands has 10 middle school kids on freshman or jv team, if you're gonna play up because you're too good for middle school ball, you can't use it as excuse if you lose!! Highlands won tonight fair & square, but I stand behind my earlier statement which was Stamm didn't play all his cards tonight!! Hope Conner gets another chance at Highlands to prove my point!!!

 

Its not an excuse...i just thought you should know before you start pumping your chest. Conner has a nice freshman team. I just didnt want you to mistake Highlands for not having anything coming up. There freshman and sophs are already playing varsity and winning.

How so? Let's do some math.... Won by 6....out scored Conner 21-8 in the fourth so out scored them by 13. 13-6=7. Big lead? Since when is 7 a big lead?

I think you're wrong. If he's used them before against NCC, why wouldn't he use them against HHS. Makes no sense. He could just as easily see NCC in the region as HHS. Just makes no sense why "he wouldn't show his hand". We already know about his hand. The only one that didn't play significant minutes that usually does is Gambrel. Great player, but I think she got hurt in the JV game. We also have a key player out, but noone has said anything about that. You play with what you have!

 

The younger girls on the freshman team are playing out of necessity, not because they are tremendous players. They are good, but should be playing in their grade. Did you hear us say that the only Freshman in the entire program play varsity and two of them start. So they have to move girls up due to numbers. HHS is not a big school and there just aren't many girl bball players to chose from.

Yes i was there sitting right in the middle of the HHS section, just a few feet from your brother! And those aren't my stats! Those are the unofficial stats (which just means they haven't watched the films to confirm) that came from the guy that keeps the HHS book! Didn't make them up. I wouldn't post something I made up or did myself. I'm too into the game to try and keep stats.

No chest pumping here!! Both schools look like they'll be stacked for a few years which makes for good basketball. I really like what I see coming from the freshman team & remember Hendricks is freshman that plays Varsity only & Gambrell plays JV & V also!! Speaking of Gambrell, she was injured in jv game so didn't play in Varsity & I really think Conner needed her tonight!! She is a strong ballhandler & could have cut through the trap press with ease. She doesn't panic or hesitate which was something Pluto & Scott seemed to do alot of tonight, which resulted in multiple turnovers!! I hope these 2 teams meet again this season so we are treated again to some awesome basketball!!
