You guys are full of it if you sit here and act like you wouldn't have been upset at the All A if you were in Wireman's shoes. If your wife's little brother was on the team and you drove all that way (with an advanced ticket sell in hand)you would expect to see her brother play. To make matters worse he was left our in the cold with a two year old little girl. Some people need to get off the high horse and understand why he was complaining. It's not a good situation and it's something that needs to be thought out in the future. What's done is done but it shouldn't happen again.

 

Thanks Stick1! I would assume that the people who are complaining about my complaining are not parents and/or have never faced a similar situation. I mean, one would think that if you buy tickets ahead of time that you would reserve the right to walk in at half-time if you so choose. I did not assume that I would be 250 people deep in a line that was taken in 10-20 people at a time as the 10-20 Rose Hill fans went out the back door - only to be told once I got close to the door that I needed to just go on home. I'm glad that someone else can understand the reason for complaint.

Why are the Rose Hill fans the only ones who should have left? Menifee Co. had a fair amount of fans in the gym too. I know for a fact that were quite a bit of Rose Hill fans that left after the first game.

I couldn't remember the other team when I was making the post. Correction - the Rose Hill AND Menifee fans.

I don't think any of the fans should have been expected to leave. It may have been mentioned earlier, and I might have missed it, but I wasn't aware that advanced tickets were sold. If that was the case then the administration at Fairview is totally to blame. They knew what the capacity was, and they should have only alloted that many tickets to have been sold or given out.

I thought I mentioned that in my original post - but yes we already had tickets and still was turned away. Their excuse was that "we assumed that more fans would leave after the girls' game..."

I believe you have posted a total of 5 times. 3 of those times have been replies to me, 3 concerning refs. So I will take the majority and consider that support of the refs. Which is fine, there are still some quality refs in the 16th, but there are also some poor ones. I could probably piece together all your comments and even figure out exactly why you support them :sssh:

 

Previous posts have no bearing on this thread but if you will review them again you will see that my comments were not in support of officals. I merely pointed out to you in another thread that the very ones whoe credentials you questioned were in fact veteren officials. Just to clear the record it is not hard to figure out why I would support them but keep in mind stripes are worn in more than one sport. I admire the men and women who officiate any sport at any level. It is truly a thankless job. You are correct about not having enough of them. I hear that every sport would like to have more officals and especially basketball.One of these days when we badger them enough to quit and we dont have enough left to cover the games what will we do then?

 

Wireman I am glad to hear you made the most of Saturday night. I notice on the KHSAA website that these two teams meet again on Monday 1/30. Just a heads up.......expect a big crowd. Try to get there a bit early. You may have to watch the JV game but I am sure you can get a seat in the expansive gym @ Elliott.

Richmond Model host the 11th All A region this year and they have 3 rows of bleachers. they may have the smallest in the state. It is a joke the get to host the tourney. I think they only hold 200.

 

While we don't have the largest gym in the world it can seat more than 200. We have a balcony which seats a lot of people on any given night and its actually 5 rows of bleachers not 3.

Poor planning got Wireman screwed. I must say that his observations on the 16th region appear to be correct most of the time.

1) As long as I don't have to work, I will be at the game

2) I want to say that Elliott will win at home, but I'm sure it will be a great game. My fear would be that Elliott will be a little high on themselves and overconfident after beating Morgan and will come out flat.

4) Smart allecs should leave at 4:00 and normal fans should leave at 5:00. You should probably take the early bus.
