January 9, 201313 yr It makes a lot of sense, IMO. Rob and Rex both believe in a 3-4 and Dallas' personnel fits a 4-3 better. It did under Wade as well. There is no reason DeMarcus Ware should EVER be in coverage, but he was an OLB in this scheme. I think this is a good change for Dallas. Rob is right- he will get a gig pretty quick. Is it coincidence that the Jets fired their d-coordinator today? Ware is a perfect 3-4 OLB. They don't have 4-3 personnel IMO.

January 10, 201313 yr Ryan was doing good just to field 11 players out there on defense this year. The Cowboys were ravaged by injuries this season in general but the defensive side of the ball really got hit hard. He lost his entire middle core, and everyone knows the middle makes up the backbone of the defense. All-Pro Jay Ratliff, Safety Barry Church, and ILB's Sean Lee and Bruce Carter all missed significant time, Church, Lee, and Ratliff most of the season. That's not counting all of the other injuries on that side of the ball, when the defense was healthy (first four or five weeks of the season) they were rated #1 in the league.
January 11, 201313 yr If anyone followed Ryan ans his style while in Cleveland please answer this for me. Is it the norm for him to have his corners play so far off of the line of scrimmage?
