Georgia mom shoots intruder

No one said that. Not in this thread' date=' and not that I've read, unless I missed it. And I sure didn't say it, or mean in that way at all.[/quote']

I've never read it here either.

See what a gun does now,it deprived a poor intruder of being able to rape, kill, rob. No wonder we need rid of guns. But in all seriousness, all those liberals who are for taking away guns, put that in your pipe and smoke it. Justice was almost served.

If an intruder entered my house and I had my two kids hiding in a closet I wouldn't even think twice.

Same here! I am a hardcore democrat and proud of it! But if any intruder enters where I am at and I feel I or anyone else may suffer harm or death, I will not hesitate to shoot!

And as for her shooting 6 times, hitting him 5, at close range. If anyone is getting on her case about that, they have no clue about the adrenaline rush and nervousness she went through, BUT her family is safe. RM and family thankfully were safe with the present of dogs scaring the intruders away.

What if your lovely democratic president takes your guns, what will you shoot them with?

Please, don't bring your theories in this thread as well.

Typical!

As a matter of fact, the first time my home was broken into, my daughter was about 6 months old. The second time, my kids were about 5 & 6. The third time my kids were 17 & 18. Each time it was a dog who caused the intruder to leave. First time, a cocker spaniel. Second time a black lab. Third time a 6 month old mutt.

I am sensetive to the subject when all I read is that I must not know or have any experience on the subject. And the ladies with guns get a "well done" while the ladies without get a "you don't get it'.

No one ever said you don't get it because you don't own a gun. I will say you don't get it when you act as though your way is the end all way to go and we should follow your method. A cocker spaniel (or any dog) isn't going to deter a desperate criminal if they ever break in your home, IMO and I pray one never does, but I completely respect your right to protect your home in the manner you choose. I wish the anti-gun people would give us the same consideration.

You must not be reading my posts, because I HAVE been broken into 3 times and each time the dog made them leave. I don't give a crap if people own guns. I DO care that because it's so easy, irresponsible people have guns and suffer no consequences when a tragedy occurs because of their lax ownership. Find me a post I've made that states otherwise. I am not "anti-gun", and many people like me are not "anti-gun". Unfortunately, the "pro-gun" people can't see the difference between "make gun ownership a responsibility with consequences " and "anti-gun ownership". And frankly, the "pro-gun" people ares the ones who feel there is no other means to consider...not me. I respect your right to own a gun. You, however, get all up in "arms" (pun intended) when someone advocates alternatives and throw out accusations that I am "anti-gun".

mom, the post I made about the ladies at the gun range did nothing more but applaud them for learning safe, appropriate use of a firearm. Really, it had no other ulterior motive. Zero.

Or you're not reading mine. I said a desperate criminal (or even a determined one), not one that would be scared away by a cocker spaniel. Also I didn't say you were anti-gun, you just assumed I said that. Guilty conscience? I've seen you, for years now, get rather smug about people "feeling the need" to protect themselves with guns, that's what I was speaking to. You also get rather heated when people disagree with you on the issue of guns, just recently with TB&G in another thread as a matter of fact.

I get up in arms when people advocate worthless legislation. As far as alternatives to you owning a gun because you don't want to, I have never had a problem with. I'm fine with you not owing a gun, I don't want my will imposed on you like anti-gun people want to do with us. So, I repeat, I wish the anti-gun people would give us the same consideration.

Frankly, the anti-gun people don't understand the difference between law abiding citizens and criminals.

I can't see how it could have been taken any other way. It certainly wasn't an attack.

I can tell you that women are buying guns in droves. Protection is the number one reason. Lots of women out there with conceal carry these days and many, many more getting ready to take the leap. Like you, I applaud them.

I think that it's great that they wanted to be properly in how to safely use a firearm. :thumb:
