Marvin Lewis It's Time

Waiting for Mike Brown to fire a coach under contract is like waiting for Mike Brown to throw on a FUBU shirt, throw on 2 Chainz in his Bentley, and be smoking a Phillies blunt while sipping on purple drank.

I bet Mike Brown is chillin with a 40 ouncer as we speak

Here is how tough it is to be a Head Coach...If Dalton completes the late TD pass to Green, this thread does not exist!!!!

No matter what the outcome of this game was Marvin should have been fired years ago. He's a .500 coach. If you are happy with that then I guess he's good enough. It's the Mike Brown way.

Actually you are wrong. I've been calling for Marvin's head for a long time. The Bengals pulling out a win this past Saturday wouldn't of changed my mind, especially if the only way they win is by making that last drive catch. Doesn't excuse the rest of the horrible decisions in that game.

Again I will reiterate, BJG had 3 rushing attempts in the first half for over 40 yards. I don't care who you are, but if you only give your starting RB 3 carries in an entire half of football and that RB has over 40 yards rushing on those 3 carries (and it wasn't because of 1 long run and 2 1 yard carries either, it was 3 long runs) yet you allow your team to throw the rest of the half with an end result of -6 yards passing, then there is no reason any head coach should retain his job. I would of fired him at halftime along with Gruden.

This teams performance falls on the shoulders of Marvin Lewis first and foremost. AJ catches the last attempt to win the game or not, there is no excuse for the other 58 minutes of that game. Marvin Lewis would still be grilled and should be fired. 10 years as a HC in this league with a losing record and 0 playoff wins. Please show me, and I will allow you to use the entire history of the NFL since the merger, and show me any team that has kept a Head coach for 10 years with a losing record and 0 post season wins.

I will add for those history buffs, Marvin Lewis' 0-4 playoff record is the 2nd worst in the history of the NFL.

Jim Mora holds the worst with a 0-6 record, but that wasn't with the same team.

The next worst % wise is Marty Schottenhiemer, but at least Marty has 5 wins in the post season.

Well I will say this, and I believe he should of been fired although we all know he won't be. Marvin is responsible for the poor performance this team always shows against good teams and playoff games.

1. Anyone who lets Brandon Tate return any kicks should be expelled and banned from the league permanently, that is just common sense.

2. Any HC that allows his team to only run the ball 4 times in the first half of a playoff game where the RB has over 40 yards rushing on only 3 carries yet passes the rest of the time for a whopping -6 yards passing should of been fired at halftime of that game.

3. Any HC who has a losing record after 10 years should be fired.

4. any coach that is 0-4 in the playoffs should be fired.

Marvin should of been fired long ago and this year is no exception, playoffs or not.

Now I do agree with on this that he should have been fired long ago. There was no reason why he should have made it past the 2008 season. However since he didn't get fired after the 2008 or 2010 seasons, then I agree with bugatti that he now has earned himself another year. However he should have been gone 5 years ago.

No matter what the outcome of this game was Marvin should have been fired years ago. He's a .500 coach. If you are happy with that then I guess he's good enough. It's the Mike Brown way.

And Mike Brown making any new hire would scare me, if I were a Bengal fan. Would he hire somebody better or would he make it worse?

The Bengals need to hire a REAL General manager and then let him hire a new HEAD COACH.

I love how people think hiring a GM would fix things. Do people not see that apparently there is not a lot of good GM's out there because Mike Brown has been finding better talent lately than those GM's. So just getting a GM means nothing, you have to hire a good GM for it to work. Which the person who would be doing the hiring for a GM would be Mike Brown haha. So I just find it comical that people act like it would make things so much better. All it would do would add another person people in Cincinnati can complain about and say is terrible. :D

Over the long haul, 79-80 is probably about right for the Bengals organization. I support them because they're the local team, but it is what it is. 10-6 against a pathetic schedule (who replaces the AFC West next year?), a one-trick pony offense (AJ), a so-so QB, a middle LB who needs another position. The offense needs help. I'm hoping for 9-7.

Yes, the Bengals are one of seven (or whatever the number is) teams to make the playoffs the last two seasons. I'm too lazy to look it up - how many different teams won a playoff game in either of the last two seasons?

One of 7 teams to make the playoffs at least 3 times in the last 4 years. I would guess those other 6 have probably won at least one playoff game, which shows the Bengals are not to those other teams level yet and I can't argue that. As for the schedule we heard the same thing after last year well they got lucky because of the schedule, just wait to this year because they play a harder schedule and the NFC East and these top QB's. Well they played that schedule, ended up with a better record, and won 7 out of 8 games which is hard to do no matter who you are playing in the NFL. They do have some obviously holes to fix though if they want to take the next step.

I don't think anyone is saying hiring a GM will garuntee improvement. What people aare saying is they want a GM to #1 try something different because the way Mike Brown has done things over the last 20+ years has proved to be nothing but a failure.

A change is needed and a GM is a great place to start because 1 thing is certain, Mike Brown is horrible at wearing the GM hat. Time to make changes in how they run things because the status quo isn't working and never has.

Thats the thing man if people can get passed how much they hate Mike Brown, which I am not a fan of either. Then people can see he actually has changed somewhat from how he does things. Especially with the draft because apparently he is listening to more people now, because they have actually done pretty good in the last few drafts, and also at evaluating free agent rookies. It has not been the same decisions as we saw for all those years, which were basically terrible decisions all the time. Maybe it just took him 17 years to learn that what he was doing was not working and is now listening to more people haha. Because even the teams with these GM's have done as well as drafting and putting a team together over the last few years.

The biggest thing is though people disagree with basically everything Mike Brown does, yet guess who is the one who would be hiring a GM? It would be Mike Brown haha. So all it would do would lead to another person people can complain about, saying how this GM sucks, and how Mike Brown still sucks for hiring that GM. :D

Wrong wrong and wrong.
