Raining/sleeting in NoKy. Started at about 1:30am

Looks like it could get nasty in far western Kentucky

So far some slush/sleet and a little under 2" of snow down here on the west end of the state...

Just getting ready for work and nothing but rain in Bellevue........thank God.

Looks like from 9am to 10am is when this thing is supposed to turn over to snow in NKY area. So far just a lot of rain/freezing rain. Doesn't look like anything is sticking though I am just looking out the window. Trying to open my car door may be an adventure...can't tell just yet.

Bout 5-6" and visibility about 300-400 yards in Paducah at this time

(And still coming down hard) Getting about 1.5" an hour right now

Same ole, same ole in Bracken,Mason and Robertson County, just a different year. Rain,rain,rain. Wish I had a nickel for every winter storm that stops in that little corner of Southeast Indiana and just will not cross into Ky. over the last 15 years. Does anyone remember the last time Northern Ky was under a blizzard warning and actually got one?

So strange, I have friends in Bowling Green and just like Northern Ky. all they have ever gotten is more and more rain. How far is BG from Paducah?

From Bowling Green to Murray is around 2 1/2 hours and about 130 miles or so, add another 20-30 minutes to Paducah from Murray! It's a pretty good drive!

 

Bowling Green is really not in Western Kentucky, at least IMHO, unlike Murray, Mayfield and Paducah!

Actually, it looks like they have the change over for snow in NKY area now at 2-3pm. Just in time for the drive home.

 

Walked to dog about an 15 minutes ago...that was the coldest rain ever.

I changed my mind and came back to Louisville last night. It's sleet here. I hear Evansville is getting hammered, and roads are closed due to no visibility. A coworker in Owensboro is trying to figure out how to get to work at French Lick. But it',s not looking good any way he can choose.

So funny how everyone up this way thinks Bowling Green is Western Ky. when really don't know what to call it, it's just there.
