Bailey seems to be looking at the Euro models more than the NAM and GSF, the Euro model was predictiong colder temps than both NAM and GSF. Temps today are 4-7 degrees colder than both the NAM and GSF forecasted.

From KWC, update was about 2 mins ago. BUT, "The area from Louisville to Covington is the one to REALLY keep an eye on. That part of the state is going to end up being super close to getting in on some of the wild stuff."

 

Maybe this is a stupid question, but they are predicting 6-12" of snow on my end of the state but temps above freezing. How is it possible to get accumulation when it doesn't get to 32 degrees???

If you live where I think you do, well where you're from, the high temp may be just after midnight and fall sometime after that during the morning. It says 34 for the high and 14 for the low for tomorrow.

I'm on the Ohio river in that 6-12" area. I keep looking at my weather apps and it says in the hour by hour nothing at freezing. I dunno lol

Well Boone County has been added to the winter weather advisory. I work about 5 minutes from the airport. Really don't want to go out in this stuff if I don't have to. And REALLY don't want to get stuck at work.

Recently from Chris Bailey tweeted that the HRRR model(I think) has this trending further south and east. Really surprised the local weather guys aren't more on top of this.

Been sleeting for about 45 minutes on this end of the state, but melting once on the ground.

I don’t really have any changes to my thought process on how things play out. Western Kentucky is facing an all out blizzard that threatens to shut down roads for a time late tonight into Wednesday morning. The area from Louisville to Covington is the one to REALLY keep an eye on. That part of the state is going to end up being super close to getting in on some of the wild stuff.

He uses the models differently, and uses more than just one. A lot, if not most of the other people around here use mainly one type of model. We shall see.....
