I'm not saying Irving won't go to LA its possible. I don't think its possible to come close to all 5 your listed. Really comes down to what players want. Their current teams can pay them more than LA can.

 

Again, completely hypothetical. And not completely unthinkable to have a "big 3" type of deal come to LA with the cap they'll have.

Kyrie Irving, Melo, AD23, Cousins, Damien Lillard...those are the next tier. John Wall, Rubio, Farried, MKG, Rudy Gay, Brad Beal, OJ Mayo, Monta Ellis, Igoudala...You could stack a solid team together but it'd be a train wreck again for a while.

Wow I missed that . Oops . It was only his 2nd full season and they did make the playoffs. I guess I should of phrased it as Jordan once he hit his prime and was on top never came close to this and even more so when he had another hall of fame player let alone 2 possibly 3 other hall of famers on his team.

 

 

The Kobe that is playing now is in his 17th season. A fair comparison about Kobe and MJ would be to see what MJ was doing in his 16th or 17th season. To compare this Kobe to when MJ was in his prime is unfair. People are always quick to pounce on Kobe when the Lakers fail. Didn't he have 28 pts, 9 assists and 6 rebounds against the Heat? Playing with an old Nash, a selfish MWP, a soft and hurt DHoward and no Gasol? But yeah, it's Kobe's fault.

 

I do think if Dwight was as healthy as he was in 2010-11 when he was one of the top 3 players in the league it would be a different story. He's clearly not healthy.

 

Right, so it's probably not wise for Kobe to call him out in the media for "not playing through it" at times, if he's hoping Howard re-signs. If Howard leaves, they're screwed. Kobe's only hope of ever winning another ring will be to latch on to the Thunder or Heat or an up and coming team and try to steal a 6th ring.

It'll be interesting to see what Kobe does after this year and beyond. I can see him staying in LA to add to his legacy instrad of leaving to chase a ring but I could see him leaving if the opportunity presents itself as well. Nothing he does surprises me.

I'm neither a Kobe Hater or Fan. Kobe haters I agree put all the blame on Kobe but Kobe Fans never want to give Kobe any blame. Kobe has a reputation for being at best a so-so teammate. He doesn't help him self by how he acts when the team is losing. I agree with Barkley that Kobe crossed a line in questiong Dwights injury in public. Kobe has actually impressed me the last few weeks with his ability to pass the ball which he hasn't always shown. But like I said in a earlier post I put a large portion of the blame on upper management. The GM needs to go.

I never said he was better than MJ. I love that argument because it is fun but MJ was the GOAT. All I was saying is that you can't compare Kobe in year 17 to MJ in his prime. That's unfair. I also said I can't blame Kobe this season for the Lakers sucking. Him calling out Howard doesn't bother me. Hammertime and I have said much worse on twitter. Howard should be lucky we aren't on the Lakers. :lol:

Why would Lebron leave the East , let alone for Miami for LA? Kobe won't be elite, a lot of moves have to be made to make it attractive for Lebron. If they let Dwight walk sets them back. No way around it.

So he couldn't see that a big coming off of back surgery might have a hard time? Riiiiight. You do realize that they can ask for all manner of medical tests before completing the trade right? As for the fact that Howard is an enormous baby, well evidently everyone except Mitch knew that. But I'm sure it is because the Lakers don't have the resources ...

If the Lakers are smart they'd tell Howard the refuse to do a sign and trade. That he has to walk somewhere that has cap room and he won't be eligible for any extra years or money.

 

Why don't these teams see if guys are really willing to take less. The Miami Heat was a really special situation. No state income taxes, LBJ and DWade have a lot of endorsements, and it had never been done before.

 

Howard doesn't seem to care about winning so make it about winning. I honestly think they should have moved him for Rondo and called it quits on this year. Rondo, Kobe, Gasol, and adding some shooters is a better recipe. JMO.
