I do think if Dwight was as healthy as he was in 2010-11 when he was one of the top 3 players in the league it would be a different story. He's clearly not healthy.

I watched some of the game yesterday. I truly can't see Howard in LA next season. Pretty much a non factor when on the floor with Bryant. Steve Nash is lost out there. Artest ( just can't buy the new moniker) just jackin up shots. Gasol out. Bryant going 1 on 3 the promary offensive set. Train wreck!!

The real question is how long the GM can survive in LA. This was poorly thought out and assembled team. Putting together championship caliber teams is more than just putting big names together. Pieces have to fit. They lack shooters to free up the lane and outside of Dwight no one rebounds. How do you get outrebounded by the Miami Heat? I may be wrong but LA doesn't have a 1st round pick this year and Dwight is going to walk. I don't see how LA in the west is going to compete any time soon.

 

Kobe is the 2nd best two guard of all time but this all but seals the fact he can never claim to be the best two guard ever. No way a Jordan led team when he was leading the NBA in scoring is hovering around .500.

^ They don't have a single contract past 2015. They'll make a run for Lebron, and even when they miss on him they'll find a way to be relevant within the next 5 years. Not worried all that much as a Laker fan. Just have to be patient because this entire team is going to be gone before we know it.

Why would Lebron leave the East , let alone for Miami for LA? Kobe won't be elite, a lot of moves have to be made to make it attractive for Lebron. If they let Dwight walk sets them back. No way around it.

Wow I missed that . Oops . It was only his 2nd full season and they did make the playoffs. I guess I should of phrased it as Jordan once he hit his prime and was on top never came close to this and even more so when he had another hall of fame player let alone 2 possibly 3 other hall of famers on his team.

Since when? It's all hypothetical at this point. It's 2 and a half years from now. Who knows who's going to sign contract extensions and how good players like Wiggins will be? No one knows...it's unrealistic to be realistic. Plus, Irving is itching to get out of Cleveland. You don't think a nice raise to go to LA and out of Cleveland wouldn't get him on the first flight to Hollywood? He's the best PG in the league right now (yeah, I said it) and he's only going to get better. You add a couple pieces around Irving it doesn't take much to be relevant. Irving will be an UFA, which means he'll probably sign that extension in Cleveland, but there's a chance.

I'm not saying Irving won't go to LA its possible. I don't think its possible to come close to all 5 your listed. Really comes down to what players want. Their current teams can pay them more than LA can.
