December 5, 201213 yr So, you were upset with Bush's vacations? And he was vacationing when we were fighting a war in the wrong country. Countless American lives lost in the wrong war while Bush was vacationing or at his homestead.
December 5, 201213 yr I can't believe the lack of Christmas spirit from some in this thread. Everyone likes going home for the Holidays, granted most have a cheaper destination than Kenya but stop being scrooge's. Of course the President can't go back to his birth state for the holidays. He needs to stay in DC and fix the budget by New Year's because he'd have it fixed by then if he wasn't going to be unreachable for 3 weeks. Daggone Do Not Disturb signs.....
December 5, 201213 yr And he was vacationing when we were fighting a war in the wrong country. Countless American lives lost in the wrong war while Bush was vacationing or at his homestead. How funny! I was DETERMINED not to "go there"! Welllll....there it is!
December 5, 201213 yr Funny how the liberals have forgotten Benghazi already.. Funny how the conservatives always believe what they want to believe about Obama, his vacations, Benghazi, mainstream media, the economy, gas prices, global warming, Obamacare, and the Tooth Fairy and it doesn't matter what anyone else tells them about those things because their truth is the actual truth. The rest of us are just sheep with no clue waiting on our handouts and the Obamaphone 6.

Just replace the word conservative with the word liberal and Obamas name with Bush and the post pretty much sums up why the country is struggling.. Each side can't find much common ground.

Each side can't find much common ground. I live every day searching for common ground. I don't feel like that feeling is reciprocated from the other side.
December 5, 201213 yr I live every day searching for common ground. I don't feel like that feeling is reciprocated from the other side. Nor I..
December 5, 201213 yr Nor I.. Using this board as an example...the only time I see common ground is when the resident liberals agree with the conservatives. You hardly ever see the conservatives on this board dare agree with anything the liberals say.
December 5, 201213 yr Even when Osama bin Laden was finally captured and caught the conservatives cried bloody hell because Obama 'took credit' for the capture and kill. It wasn't Obama. It was the Seals. How dare he.....
December 5, 201213 yr That's not how PP92's question was phrased which was what I answered. Fair enough. However, it's clear that the ones complaining the loudest can't bring themselves to say that THEY were the ones harping on Bush about his vacations. (Just to be clear, 75, you don't fall in that category.)

Then you can't be a true liberal. However, I think there are a lot of moderates out here as well that don't disagree with all of the so-called liberal platform...ie. improvements in healthcare, pro-choice, health and welfare safety nets, etc., environmental initiatives...however, the disagreements are usually about how to achieve the goals, and in my case, the current administration's leanings towards BIG government, heading towards socialism, is too scary to consider. In a red/blue world I guess I would be considered conservative (red), but there are a lot of issues I believe we would agree on.

I don't think I am a true liberal but I do think I get labeled as one. There are things from both sides that I agree with but I think my defense of the Obama administration and agreeing with most of the stuff they do garners me the liberal label.

I think we need new category and sterotype terminology as the old ones are getting tired. :sssh: I was just reading another website that used the term social conservatives, and that is where I know I and many would separate from the single definition of conservative. The context in this case is that in Texas, social conservatives were being blamed for reducing funds for family planning clinics. And...I just think that is stupid! (reducing the funds that is)
