November 27, 201213 yr Will any of the current assistant coaches retain their jobs? First thing that came to my mind. One of the assistants is a friend if mine and I really hate to hear this.

Not sure that MSU would be anything more than a stepping stone for him- not many people would be willing to put up with what little MSU has to offer for football.

November 29, 201213 yr Someone close to MSU football answer this for me, what is MSU's goal with football? Win championships? When the Conference? Keep KY players at home? Generate money for other activities? What is it? Being non scholly, I am curious as to how MSU looks at football and what their goal is with it. IMO the answer to that, helps to answer if Chuck Smith is a good fit or not.

A stepping stone to what, retirement? Smith is in his 50's. He's not an up and coming young coach. Not to say he isn't a really good coach, just that we aren't talking about someone just beginning their career.

December 10, 201213 yr Mike Furrey has done some amazing things at KCU. I think he would be a great hire at Morehead, I would be surprised if he left KCU so fast though.
