December 14, 201213 yr Interesting that the statement from MSU said that Tenyer brought 'energy'. Was that a shot at coach Ballard?Don't think so....that is said with most new hirings....Tenyer thanked Ballard during his conference....good hire for MSU....this guy is an offensive wizard...
December 14, 201213 yr Per Footballscoop... Morehead State (FCS - KY): Sources tell us new head coach Rob Tenyer (been on staff for 12 years, promoted from OC yesterday) has released the entire staff. That's gonna leave a mark. Makes me wonder if there was a little undermining going on. Not sure the logic of firing a long term guy and then hiring a long term assistant from the same staff.

Administration could have said, ok we will hire you as HC, but everyone else must go.
December 14, 201213 yr Author This was an "inside" job from the get go....something stinks in the 'head!!
December 15, 201213 yr This was an "inside" job from the get go....something stinks in the 'head!! The AD needs to take a long look in the mirror. Embarrassing. Fired a great guy doing the best he could under terrible circumstances and replace him with the OC who then fires the ENTIRE staff. Guess MSU football will continue to slide in the state. As far as football goes, not sure that MSU isn't one of the 3 worst jobs in KY (and don't know which two could be worse).
December 16, 201213 yr So you hire a guy that has been in the program for a while. I want to know where was his energy before he was the head coach? I know the blame of losing goes to the Head Coach, but this guy has been a part of this program for a while. Not sure it is a change in a different direction.
December 16, 201213 yr Let me get this straight. Ballard hires Tenyer. Ballard has inadequate facilities and no scholarships to offer- just cheap tuition. Ballard signs the best players that nobody else wants and does the best he can with the hand he's dealt. Tenyer gets a pass for everything while the entire staff is left to be the scape goats. Something smells funny...

This guy is not an offensive wizard. The good offense that MSU has played for the last 2 years was the Franklin System brought in by Duffer Duffy (wr coach). Tenyer was just the by product of having the title "offensive coordinator". I predict this will be an awful decision by MSU. Then the guy has the audacity to fire some of the coaches that were solely responsible for him having the "resume" to get the job.

The offense was the same stuff that Coach Ballard had run for years...he has had some good OC's (Jeff Durden, Gary Dunn) but don't think for a sec that Coach Ballard did'nt call the plays.
