Not the school, not Coach Cal, the players. Said they're entitled, have no sense of UK history, and don't fit the "Kentucky" mold.

 

Probably not the smartest thing to say for a guy who's team gets to get obliterated by the Cats Wednesday. Should be interesting how Coach Cal reacts. One thing he doesn't put up with is people attacking his players.

Woods needs to learn to keep his mouth shut. As a young head coach he should be taking notes on how to run a program and concentrate on his own players.

I understand and agree with what he is saying but he should have kept his feelings on the low and behind closed doors. He gains nothing from it and it makes him look bad.

He may not have handled it right or should have waited til after he played, But as a UK graduate I think he has the right to say whats on his mind. He was one of the unforgetables and obviously is proud and appreciative of his UK experience. Should have addressed it privately with Coach Cal. With today's one and done most could careless about the past. Heck Coach Cal promotes it with the way he recruits. Come to UK play for a national championship and pick out what you will wear on draft day. That is not gonna promote an appreciation of the history of UK basketball. He shouldn't be booed. It was just dumb for him to say it though!

His comments come from his interaction with them during the Hurricane Sandy telethon. He's probably just upset that none of them knew who he was. Heck, WCS didn't even know who Laettner was.

I'm sure Coach Cal will walk a very thin line with some sarcasm. You're right about ignorant off-base comments, but he is also very good about respecting Kentucky's past and the players in it.

It would prove that fans of 'the greatest college basketball program ever' only care about the now and will spit on one of their past players because they don't agree with what he is saying even if he is right. Yeah, entitled is the word he used isn't it?

 

 

Cal will take the high road in this. He's smart enough to know that anything negative he has to say about Woods is a slippery slope. I guarantee there are a lot of UK fans who feel exactly like Sean Woods does. I work with a bunch of them. Talk to some older UK fans. The ones who still care deeply about UK's past and those who played a part in it. Not all like one and done players. Woods is an Unforgettable. Cal will take the high road. Cal is great at not making himself look bad and anything negative he says about Woods is a lose-lose situation.

I disagree, for once with you, well this and anything about Duke. lol.

 

Woods talks about entitlements, I guess he thinks he is entitled to rip the UK players and not feel the effects? He is a big boy now, a man, you live with your comments and live with the reactions to them. Cal protects his players, the fans protect them as well, just as you will protect Duke players, wrongfully I may add.
