I watched the Wayne County and Central film and was not sure how Wayne got out of that game as close as they did. Central IMO destroyed the Cardinals up front and ran at will on them. If they can hold central to what they did then Monroe will "have a chance" as everyone says.

 

 

This is going to be a great game with mistakes deciding the game. I have complete respect for Centrals athleticism, but if they are "that good" why even take the bus ride up to Louisville...why not just give them the trophy and call it a day!!! Just my thoughts...

Well seeing how Wayne outgained Central, knocked their qb out of the game, and had 4-6 sacks I'm guessing is how they stayed in it. The qb had 50 or so yards of Central's rushing yards on one play. Central made big plays against Wayne is how they beat them. Which is how they beat everyone. Look I'm not saying that you can't play with them and all that but anyone who gets on here and says that your going to score a bunch of points on them, out physical them is crazy. But you never know. That is why they play the game. Central might turn it over 3 or 4 times and you can beat them. Destroyed the Cardinals up front....thats rich. I never have said one thing bad against Monroe, just it's fans don't understand what your up against. I actually love Monroe.

I spoke out of turn!! I got my post backwards, this game has got my head in a fog!! I meant exactly opposite what I posted. After watching the film, which I had never seen Central play, Wayne's defensive line swarmed the qb of Central. The first td for Central was a good catch directly over Waynes corner. If he had looked up he could have picked it off. Central has SPEED everywhere. they close on defense very well. I did not see a complete domination from the defending state champs.

 

Wayne county is a good ball club and we enjoy the competition every year.

With Chad Wilson on the field, anything can happen..

The one thing with Central that Monroe I am sure is not familiar with, and something fans of Belfry and Bell County know all to well, is IMO they key to winning vs. losing.

 

Central's defense from a topical view will give up yards and allow teams to gain first downs. Where Central is absolutely lethal...I mean where they will absolutely kill you... is they are very adept at creating turnovers and subsequently turning those into quick change points. There is no way to quantify this, but I bet no other team in the State of Kentucky has a higher ratio of turnovers being returned for TD's or TD's scored immediately following a turnover.

 

The biggest misconception teams make with Central is that they are afraid of contact and that if you hit them in the mouth they will back down. Central is an extremely physical team and they are very skilled at stripping the football. If Monroe wants to beat Central they need to be patient, take what Central gives them, shorten the game, and above all else hold to the football.

 

I think the Falcons push Central, but just too many athletes and too many guys with game breaking ability.

Monroe has more than a good opportunity of pulling this off; here are a few keys for them.

1) Anthony Wales graduated last season and this point can't be overstated.

2) Monroe can't turn the ball over and give Central extra possessions; zero turnovers = Monroe victory. Central is outstanding in forcing turnovers at key points in the game.

3) Central appears to have a few nicks and scars from their last game, Monroe can capitalize on this.

 

This will be a huge challenge for the Falcons, but I am expecting a little magic from the country team against the champs from the 'Ville.
