I don't know where the misconception comes from that Monroe can't throw the ball. We haven't thrown the ball much because we haven't had to. We have rushed for nearly 4,000 yards. Why pass when we have had so much success running? Ask PT if Monroe can pass. They loaded the box so we started throwing the ball and running a read pass that gave Chad the option to throw or run and had success in doing so, Monroe out scored PT 22-0 in the second half.

It will be an uphill climb no doubt, but Monroe will come to play and pack the house. That much you can be sure of....

According to Monroe's stats, Wilson was 6-17 for 84 yards with two picks against Tilghman.

 

Two of Monroe's three touchdowns in the second half came off a muffed punt and a fumble, as I understand it.

They beat Wayne by 3. Do you think Wayne is just that much better than Monroe that we cant play with them?

 

Seeing how Wayne pretty much handled you early in the preseason, sacked and hit Wilson, over and over again, and how Central just stuffed one of the great power run teams in Bell I'd say picking Monroe to win by more than a point in a close game is stretching it.

I only remember one pick but I'm sure the stats were right. Doesn't change the fact Monroe had success throwing on PT, it's what won the game for them combined with great effort by the defense, it was a blocked punt and a big time hit in the end zone that popped the ball out for the Falcons Defense. Like you said "good teams have a way of making opponents pay for mistakes", of course you didn't say that about Monroe.

I watched it as well and can tell you that you saw very little of Monroe. Monroe wasn't about to go all out with Chad fighting for yards and taking unnecessary abuse in an effort to win a scrimmage.

Well while Wilson is a nice player this game will be won up front. Central is as good up front as Wayne on defense.

I'm glad you guys are on the schedule also. I really am a big fan of Monroe other than when they play us. I love Coach Pettite's style.

Monroe is not the same team that you witnessed in the scrimmage with Wayne. The offensive line has become a solid unit. If the defense plays their usual tenacious defensive game, then Coach Petett's deep playbook and Monroe's offensive line performance will decide the outcome of the game. Again it is up to the offensive line's performance. In the region Monroe has flown under everyone's radar this year for sure. PT overlooked them . Central could also be overlooking Monroe . I sure hope so. It makes possible victory sweeter.

Does anyone know a good place to park for the game?

Monroe County is a great story in 3A this year but I think the speed and athleticism of Central will win out. I predict a Central win 21-13.

I watched the Wayne County and Central film and was not sure how Wayne got out of that game as close as they did. Central IMO destroyed the Cardinals up front and ran at will on them. If they can hold central to what they did then Monroe will "have a chance" as everyone says.

 

 

This is going to be a great game with mistakes deciding the game. I have complete respect for Centrals athleticism, but if they are "that good" why even take the bus ride up to Louisville...why not just give them the trophy and call it a day!!! Just my thoughts...
