Being from Wayne County we have played both teams and it will be an uphill climb for Monroe. Chad Wilson and Polly from Bell County are very similar. He will have some success but if you cannot loosen Central from the box you have little chance of running the ball. Wayne had the better team to beat Central because they can both throw and run the ball. One dimensonal teams have a hard time with Central because its not that they are fast, but they are extremely fast and physical in the box on defense. Wayne was more physical than them but made mistakes in crunch time. You cannot make mistakes. One man will not beat Central.

How did that turn out for you?

I remember reading in the preseason reports how good a linebacker tandem Central had. I assume those players have lived up to their billing. I think they might have been only juniors, too.

Then why sit there and say "Well they havent seen a player like_____" when its not even your player.

Monroe needs to play well to pull the upset, but thier offense and defensive schemes are well suited to play Central.

I don't know where the misconception comes from that Monroe can't throw the ball. We haven't thrown the ball much because we haven't had to. We have rushed for nearly 4,000 yards. Why pass when we have had so much success running? Ask PT if Monroe can pass. They loaded the box so we started throwing the ball and running a read pass that gave Chad the option to throw or run and had success in doing so, Monroe out scored PT 22-0 in the second half.

It will be an uphill climb no doubt, but Monroe will come to play and pack the house. That much you can be sure of....

I agree with this. If Monroe's defense plays to its potential then it will be tough going for Central. I'm worried about matchup issues and players making plays. Our secondary will bend and at times break, other times they pick off anything thrown their way, we need the latter to happen on Friday night. If Monroe's defense plays well I feel like Monroe can move the ball well enough to pick up first downs and keep Central on the field. That IMO is Monroe's recipe for victory....

Central has played St. Xavier, Ballard and Pleasure Ridge Park, three of the last eight teams in 6A, and Evansville Reitz. I doubt that Monroe will show them anything they haven't seen.
