November 23, 201213 yr Just spent a very enjoyable morning watching Lincoln! Powerful, moving and if your a History buff, a most see. We will be totally surprised if Lincoln doesn't sweep the Oscars.
November 23, 201213 yr I heard that Lincoln was shot on location.... Assassination should never be a subject for attempted humor . Taint funny Magee .
November 23, 201213 yr I liked how Spielberg handled Lincoln's assassination. Yes, since that was one part of the movie that 99.9% of the people knew what was going to happen. Honestly I was surprised that at 10:50am on Black Friday, that the theater was packed but then again at $5.00 a head, I guess I shouldn't have been. Was very surprised at how many 2nd, 3rd or 4th grade school children were watching and was even more surprised that they watched very intently and were actually talking to their parents about the movie as they were leaving. It gave me faith in the fact that those children wanted to learn about the History of their great Country! :thumb:
November 24, 201213 yr I liked how Spielberg handled Lincoln's assassination. I did as well, and commented so to my gf right after the movie. Doing it that way didn't give it more attention and take anything away from what the movie was really about.
November 24, 201213 yr Great movie , and many awards should come to it . I'm really glad that it was released after the election .
November 24, 201213 yr I'm glad to hear that Lincoln is doing well in theaters. That wasn't always true.
November 24, 201213 yr Tremendous movie!!! Well worth paying the $ to see. I sat in a sold out theater, and I believe half the audience was alive when Lincoln was president.
November 25, 201213 yr I'm glad to hear that Lincoln is doing well in theaters. That wasn't always true. See post #32
November 25, 201213 yr If you saw the movie and wondered who in the heck was the US Rep from Ky Congressmen Yeamen, you really should read this well written article in the LHL today. I consider myself a rather well read history Lincoln buff but when "The Boss" inquired as to where Yeamen was from in Kentucky, I only guessed from Western Kentucky and while I was correct, I honestly had never heard of him until the movie. A must read if you saw the movie and had a question about the Congressmen from Kentucky who literately won the day for Lincoln! Link to the article from the LHL
November 28, 201213 yr One of the best movies I have seen in a while. Very powerful. Lewis and Jones were awesome. Perhaps one of the best performances was turned in by Sally Field.
December 6, 201213 yr Actor says everyone, including Spielberg, had to refer to Daniel Day Lewis as "Mr President." http://www.tmz.com/2012/12/06/lincoln-lucas-haas-daniel-day-lewis-mr-president-method-actor/

You should look up the stuff he did when he was researching and performing the role of Bill The Butcher in Gangs Of New York.
