Why in the heck would you attend SK in the first place! I lived in Independence went to SK in the lean years and got out of Dodge! My kids are getting a quality education, enjoy playing athletics and certainly don't hang there hat on a 1981 state basketball championship! Most of the old guard has to be ashamed of the parents of today's SK students or future students. I always wanted to see the program do well but a few are creating a bunch of haters.

 

My kid just came home with straight As, having played in 12 Varsity football games, starting in 8 of them. He enjoys playing for a stable, passionate coaching staff that drives him to be the best. He also enjoys the benefits of an extremely supportive booster group and rabid fan base. In addition, he enjoys playing and practicing in a modern stadium, with a state of the art conditioning center and INDOOR practice facility.

 

Other than that, he hates it. Why would someone want to go to Highlands?????

Wow! Those kids are spoiled!! Can't believe kids aren't knocking the door down to get in there? I'm sure that was all funded by fundraising and private donations, right?

Come on...I'm a Cov Cath fan through and through, but is that a REAL question? Give me a break, holmes.

They transfer because of largely selfish interests. Easy paths to 1A championships. Why stick around SK and grind it out when you can bail and go into a 1A playoff where there is no competition until the state semifinals. There are also those that bash our coaching like the selfish juveniles they are.

Families are allowed to transfer their kids no matter the reason, selfish or not. Some issues the previous school can control. Some things, they cannot. The key is to figure out why the kids transferred and whether or not it was something in your control. If it was, fix the issue. If it was not in your control, move on and prepare the next kid.

We know the Blueboy faithful would understand, nothing gives us a greater pleasure than a W against a program we respect! SK wants to be known as a champion but the program likes to spout and boast about being average! Great facilities and nothing to show for it! I am not one to boast look at my many posts. When you win say little and when you are SK say less LOL

We have strayed WAY off the thread path, we are in need of a shepherd to led the flock back home. :isurrender:

For this particular SK team, building confidence early in the year was more important than going up against rigorous competition. We are the last of our district to still be playing and continuing the SOS arguments , when the results on the field dictate otherwise, is absurd and spiteful.

If SK is going to settle for making the Regional Finals, then continue to schedule the same way. When you're ready to take the next step and be a title contender each and every year, you're going to have to step up the scheduling. Of course you're going to have to deal with the occasional 2-8 or 3-7 seasons, but in time it will be a huge benefit. A 6A school is not going to be a title contender scheduling the multiple 1A, 2A or 3A opponents, even if they are powerhouses in those classes.

AND, that doesn't go away if you go 9-2 and still have no chance to win titles.

The only year that is relevent is last year after a 2-9 campaign. Two years ago you throw out because we were regional finalist then as well. Last year alone, we lost 11 kids after a 2-9 campaign.
